I feel this is a completely appropriate topic, because hair is a created art form (your stylist takes what you have and changes it), so we can rank his hair as much as we might rank his performances or his clothing styles. Right? It’s not unfair objectification? Oh well, maybe it is, but it’s fun!
Okay, I’m not including wigs, so no Asoka long or Don 2 long. Just the hair styles that transitioned from on set to off set. And in case it isn’t clear, when I say “good boy” hair cut, I mean the hair cut you would get from the barber who lives down the street once a week because you are a good Indian boy (whether a college student or an office worker), versus the haircut you get from some fancy stylist.
To give you a baseline, here is the Shahrukh Basic Good Boy Hair Cut. This is what he started with before the fame and all that, this is the canvas all his hair artists are working with.

Okay, now the first actual official styled look!
Shahrukh Young Good Boy Long Hair With Slight Gel and Part

Shahrukh Good Boy Hair When the Gel Fails and It Falls in His Eyes

Shahrukh Almost Mullet and Slight Shaping Style With Gel and Part

Shahrukh Feathered Bangs

Shahrukh Growing Out slight Mullet and Gel Fail

Shahrukh Actual Mullet

Shahrukh Fully Styled Hair With Gel And High Bangs

Shahrukh Short Sides Droopy Bangs

Shahrukh Short Sides Strong Part

Shahrukh Short Sides Strong Part Heavy Gel
Shahrukh Long and Soft, Strong Part

Shahrukh Long and Loose

Shahrukh Adult Version Good Boy Hair

Shahrukh Even More Good Boy Hair

Shahrukh Frosted Tips

Shahrukh Short and Practical and Modern

Shahrukh Short and European

Shahrukh Short and Military

Shahrukh Long with One Streak

Shahrukh Fluffy and Big

Shahrukh Long and Bang-y and Highlights

I started trying to rank them all, but it is too HARD! So I’m just going to give my top 3 and bottom 3:
Top:
Short and Military
Short and European
Good Boy Growing Out Gel Fail
Bottom:
Blond Streak
Frosted Tips
Mullet
How about you?
Best: big and fluffy like JHMS and Dear Zindagi, also strong part and long (KANK). I’m adding his hair in Veer Zaara which I really love: brown with sun-kissed highlights, short and lightly gelled; the Indian version of a California beach boy.
Worst: Mullet, Blonde Streak, the SRK ponytail (which I loathe)

I decided, out of the kindness of my heart, to ignore the ponytail. It’s ultimately a side effect of Long and Loose, the better version of that same hair, so why not be kind? Anyway, I agree with you, the pony tail is THE WORST:
I disagree with you on the Veer Zaara hair though, I find the highlights too trying too hard looking. Although the cut is flattering.

No one likes long and blond streak! Why did they think that would be a good idea?
Glad to know someone else likes growing out mullet and gel fail look. It’s so cute and boyish!
I know long and soft and strong part is a general favorite, but it just does not work for me somehow.
The short sides strong part heavy gel was his most iconic and popular look, but it has not aged well! Although, it does make his face look good, let’s us see his eyebrows and stuff. But the hair by itself is not as interesting as other options.

Long and bangy (though could do with fewer highlights)
KANK hair, the best part of that movie for me
After that I’d go back to iconic, short sides, strong part – though I wonder how it would sit now on his older face
Not a fan of the JHMS or Jug combed back look, it distracts me into thinking about how to fix it. While still, needless to say, a huge improvement over streaks, frosting, ponytails, or mullets. Yeesh.

Ugh, I just had this horrible image of the short sides strong part combined with his new scruffy beard. BAD! NO! I think that cut might safely be left in the past.
I find the streaks frosting and ponytail endearing in that they are proof Shahrukh has flaws. The flaws being, he has no hair-taste. Thank goodness he always has hairdressers.

Long with blond streak is the worst. The mullet is terrible too but I can understand everybody had it in the 90′.

The blond streak is soooooooooooo stupid! It looks stupid, and then it makes me think about how it was a promotion tool since he wore it all the time (should have been easy to make it removable) and that was also stupid, and it was part of the plot point of him being disguised as a white guy briefly in the film which was also stupid. It’s just stupid every which way.

“Shahrukh Long and Loose” looks awful, for a sec i thought its a wig!

Nope. I know it isn’t because he wore an irritating pony tail in real life while he was growing it out.

BEST:
Styled, gel, high bangs a la KKHH
Big and fluffy a la JHMS
Short and Military a la JTHJ
WORST:
literally all the mullet looks
the streak
that long trash hair in Om Shanti Om
He looks better with short hair, period, fight me

Hey, you get no argument from me on the short hair train! I like it myself. Nice and tidy and manly, and showing off his expressive eyes.
Although, “trash hair”? The pony tail he wore in real life, yes! A thousand times yes! But the actual styled film version? I can live with that.
