I have to say, present day Mohanlal might be a bit much even for me. And he is also super super old. But wow, young Mohanlal!!!! Soft around the edges, but with that nice steady fire in his eyes? See?
Is that it? Is that all the southerners required? Oh wait! PRABHAS!!!! I know I will get in trouble if I forget him, especially after a whole month of no Prabhas on the TGIF posts. See how he’s got that nice “Netflix and chill with a soft man-pillow” vibe to him here?
See, that’s what Anushka’s thinking here, “I could just lean down and rest my head on his nice soft tummy and take a nap.”
And his sweet little smile really goes well with the whole teddy bear vibe.

Okay. This is weird because I just finished Andaz last night and the whole time I kept thinking, okay I could be into Shammi if he had kept using hair plugs. He is kind of cute chunky and he dresses well, so I could be all about cuddling that.

When I was about ten, a friend came over while we were watching a movie and pointed out that a) all three of us (mother and two daughters) were swooning over the same man, and b) He’s been dead for decades (I think it was Tyrone Power). Somehow it didn’t seem odd to me to share a crush with my Mom.
On the other hand, actors that remind me of my Dad are impossible. This is my Amitabh problem, he’s very Dad-Like for me (same height, similar beard in present day), so most of the time I just look at him and see “Dad”.
Luckily, Sanjeev Kumar looks nothing like my Dad, so he’s good for me!
And hey, Shammi Kapoor had all the young women of India in a tizzy for about 3 years there, nothing weird at all about finding him an attractive man!

I’m biased of course but Shashi still looks great. I don’t think I’ve taken special notice of a man in a pajama-punjabi before. It’s what all the men around me wear. But something about the way Shashi wears this very simple, basic Indian clothing just get me. Both in reel and real life. I’m currently watching Baseraa on youtube. He’s wearing them right now in it.

Dev Anand. Soft around the edges. Even when he was young and skinnier he still had chubby cheeks. Mithun circa 1980s, in retrospect not so attractive, but back then i thought he was.
Btw you’ve had multiple posts on teddy bear men and hard body muscle men. How about a future post on skinny men? The skinnier the better. Could be beanpole or could be compact sized. If teddy bear men makes one think of cuddling, skinny men imply ease of movement, swiftness, energy, and deftness in the sack. For example, if you are netflix and chilling and ask the guy for a glass of wine, Skinny Guy will get you the perfect wine and be back in a flash to be all over you. Whereas Teddy Guy will take half an hour to motivate out of inertia, then another half hour to find the wine and the glass. And Muscle Guy will expect you to get the wine. And won’t have wine with you because carbs. So Skinny Guy should not be overlooked. 😉 Examples include Southern Sid, Vikrant Massey, and (early) Arjun Rampal. Shahid Kapoor and SRK are deceptively skinny, or at least, thinner than they look on first glance.

Hairy, cuddly, all these men are in response to reader requests. No one has indicated an interest in skinny men (poor skinny men), but you make a good case! I shall have to think on this.

Yupp, I was actually thinking of Jackie during Hero and Salman during Maine Pyar Kiya. So yes, definitely include them. I wasn’t sure if there were any good young skinny Hrithik pics because by the time he was launched, he was buff. Maybe also skinny Farhan?
Also, sure go nuts and include Monish Bahl but I am never ever going to think he is hot. He doesn’t look exactly like my dad but something about him that gives me dad vibes and as you correctly noted in the cuddly discussion, that’s just gross and off-limits.

The pic of young Hrithik, even blurry – that’s what I’m talking about. Bony-skinny, tall and lanky, so long limbed that his fingertips graze his knees. He makes the 3 handsome men around him look like marshmallows.
Cosign on Sid M and especially ARK, who has a similar lanky quality to young hrithik, but he’s legal!

I think his natural tendency is to be skinny.
His waist is almost the same width as Kriti’s and she is a very skinny girl.

Is there a reason we have all been carefully avoiding Young Amitabh? I mean, if tall and skinny and lanky is your thing, he’s the top of the list. Is it because it feels wrong to limit him to just a sex object or something?

Sure, the past 40 years have had ups and downs, but that magical 73-76 era, they were more in love than any couple I’ve ever seen on screen. Rekha-Amitabh were sexy, but Amitabh-Jaya in Zanjeer were heartstopping.

I’d offer Govinda, but while he’s been chubby (and muscular at the same time sometimes), and is very pinchable, I don’t think he’s cuddly at all. In Andolan he had glasses and jumpers in a few scenes and that’s the closest he’s gotten.
