I still have to write a Shakti post, and watch and review Saagar, for my very dull Ramesh Sippy series. So in the meantime, I am doing a quick fun post, just a series of songs connected by title.
Antakshari! It’s a game people play in India, one person starts a song and then stops and the next person has to come up with another song that starts with the same word that the last song ended. Or else the same musical note. Or the same syllable sound. Whatever the rules are for this particular game, you get the idea.
I’m going to play it all by myself, using the last word of the title of the song matching to the first word of the title of the next song. Exciting! Oh, and I will also be fudging slightly if it is the same word but with a different verb or gender ending, because language is too stupid to respect.
First, because today is strawberry day, “Strawberry Aankhein”!
Okay, Aankhein! “Aankhon Mein Teri” obviously
Which leads to “Teri Ore”
Which leads to “O re Piya” if a fudge a little bit (“ore” is HARD!)
“Piya Piya O Piya Piya”, with cute little Preity and Rani
Oops, now I have “Piya” again! Oh well, it’s a good word, this time I’ll do “Piya Bole”
Okay, “Bole”. “Bole Chudiyan” I guess!
And that’s it! There are no songs that start with “Chudiyan” that I can remember off the top of my head. Help me!
What about this?

But, one word title! Now we have to find a second Choodiyan song since the first word is also the last.

hmmm that’s hard…though I’m used to playing the game a little differently…we use the last sound that the person sang and have to start singing with that sound…so if we complete the song Chudiyan Khanak Gayi we might stop on aadhi raat ma….now have to start with Ma…so Maayin Maayin (from HAHK)
