I’m going out of town this weekend, weird timing I know but it’s a family thing that is worth doing no matter what. But starting next week, all home all the time and I am going to be going INSANE! As are many of you. So, I have a plan! Which will be constantly evolving as I think of other things, and as you suggest brilliant ideas. Really, suggest on this post, I’m open to anything. Heck, if we can figure out group video calling, I’m down for that.

We need a time and a film, but I’m thinking many of you will be available, and interested in some sort of virtual get together. I know I am, because otherwise I will be going INSANE. I don’t know if Youtube still has this, but it used to have a feature where you could set up a special link to watch something on Youtube with a group, and all in the group could chat while watching the video together. I tried it once with a couple of far-flung (as in two other continents) friends to watch HAHK. The only problem was our discussion was so lively that we kept pausing the video while we thrashed out each point, so ultimately we only got through about one hour of the movie. 🙂

Once I get home and have time, I may use the wordpress help chatline and see if they can give me step by step for ANY of this. Sounds like it’s all plugin based (blech), not just the simple already existing tools.

Idk if I ever said this in any posts, but I’m a public school teacher, and I just got the announcement today that schools are closing and we’re moving to online learning on Tuesday “until further notice”. I need time to prepare everything, but I basically have no reason to leave my house now, and I’ll be going stir crazy as well as stressing out over how online learning even works. I can’t think of any ideas right now, because today was insanely overwhelming and my brain is all fuzzy, but I’m open to anything.

It’s so sudden! You have so much company, not sure if that makes you feel any better. Teachers all over the country trying to figure out how to teach online for the first time and take care of their own kids at the same time. Really hard. What grade level do you teach? I’m spending part of my work days now pulling together K-8 resources.

At least because I’m young, it doesn’t feel like any more stress that I don’t already deal with. I feel bad for the older teachers who have been coasting for years, and are also bad at technology.

I like the overall narrative of Humsafar, it’s just that so little happens per episode, I think I kept forwarding a lot. I may have missed it, but I didn’t even realize they had consummated their marriage! I was like, how can you still be so shy around each other even after having slept together? Anyway, I can always watch more of Fawad and Mahira but prefer ZGH.

I don’t know if you’ve seen my Humsafar posts, but I think I broke it down into 3 episodes at a time or something like that. you are right, it is just too slow to do episode by episode.

Unfortunately it looks like WordPress (so far from what I have found) is really limited in it’s functions. We may have to cobble all this together through comments sections.
Which we can totally do! I write the first paragraph of a fanfic, and then the comments take it away.
