Watch Aiyyaa With Me, 2pm Chicago Time, Friday 3/20

Woo-hoo! Friday afternoon movies! So I can enjoy the fact that I am off work early on Fridays. Oh, and I picked Aiyyaa because Genevieve said she started it and stopped because she wanted to watch it with us. Also, it’s available basically EVERYWHERE, so everyone can join in.

We’re gonna try something new! Not twitter, because twitter is BLECH, but here in the safe warm world of DCIB we will all watch a movie together.

I’ll put up a post scheduled for 2pm and hit play at the same time. And then I’ll just put comments underneath to start the discussion, and y’all can add your comments too. Only downside is, it’s not as instant as twitter. Or as easy to reply to people. Or figure out what is the most recent comment and what it refers to. But I think we can all figure it out. Three tips:

Be obsessive about refreshing the screen so you don’t miss new comments!

Type in “this is a reply to ___” as needed

And as much as possible, DON’T REPLY, start a new comment, so other people can just scroll down the comment chain to figure out what is newest.

Does that make sense? Oh well, we will figure it out as it goes if anything else comes up.

And come on, you know you want to watch Aiyyaa!

  1. I feel so important!! And I just found out an hour ago that my kids get to watch it with us too! I thought their cousins might join in, but they’re in quarantine. Maybe I can get some of the girls I usually watch after school to come watch it with us. You had a theory about mothers of girls not needing DCIB because they had a built in discussion group, and I think you might be onto something. I’m excited to try the new non-twitter group watch format.

    • YAAAAAAAY! And I hope, if the kids have pertinent comments, you will share them with us 🙂

    • Yes! And with the new “comments space on the blog” watchalong system, I think it should be a lot easier to jump in and out than with twitter.
