Cinemapremam asked on my “are you an Alpha, Beta, or Zeta lover?” post if I could help her think of more “zeta” style lovers, and now I am blanking. Can you help?
Think Devdas. Or Majnu. Or Ranbir Kapoor in, like, EVERYTHING. Who are the lovers that are all damaged and broken and messed up and that’s what makes them sexy?

HARRY!!! 😀

SRK’s Devdas is the only one I can think of. Probably because characters like that annoy me the most and I avoid those movies.

ARK in Aashiqui 2. Drinking and smashing everything up for no reason and then swan dive off a freeway.

Yes! Why am I supposed to find this dreamy?

Sanjay Dutt in almost everything? Especially in the 90s? Or is that more his public persona than his onscreen characters?

No, I think you are right! Saajan, Sadak, Khalnayak, basically everything.

Argh, but I loved him in Sadak. The scene where he has PTSD because of his sister’s death and he almost shoots himself is flat out brilliant. Like I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with him but it was riveting

Yep, Sanjay is so good at playing Zeta!

I’m not sure with this one. He was damaged and broken but not like the other guys who only wanted to take and take. And also, he really had the reason to be depressed and it wasn’t his fault he was in that situation, unlike Devdas or Ranbir in Rockstar.

This is a tough one. Based on his gentle personality as a boy, I feel like he’s more of a straight beta who is able to tap into a bit of alpha for the ones he loves.

I would say that he is a natural Beta who was turned into a Zeta through trauma but, with the healing power of love and kindness around him, will turn back into his natural Beta.
Actually, that’s true of all the characters in Koode, right? Gentle harmless kind people who were broken by trauma because they are so naturally gentle.

-The guy from Unforgetable – he was the worst, first felt he in love with gangster’s daughter, when she dumped him he promised his mother that he will marry the girl of her choice. At last minute he changed his mind and didn’t come at the wedding. His mother (heart patient) died of shock , he became blind, started self-pitying and treated badly his last friends. Later he felt in love with the nurse who was working for him (btw the same girl he was supposed to marry but he didn’t know that). She also loved him but was already married (man she was quick), but it’s not important because she was shot by the gangster (father of his first girlfriend) in the end. So the guy with his actions: killed his mother, almost killed his last friend, became blind and caused his lover’s death. Still he wanted us to have sympathy for him. He beat Ranbir in Rockstar and I though it’s impossible.

What is the movie unforgetable? Which apparently was so bad that you will never forget it, thus truth in labeling!

I’m debating if Varun in Kalank counts?
Also Sid in Ek Villain but I think that’s a definite. Him in Marjaavaan too probably.

I think Varun in Kalank counts. he was all angry, but also all torn up about his mother not loving him.
