Happy Monday! I get to WORK today! So excited, something productive to do. And I get to get dressed and stand at my homemade standing desk and all kinds of good things.
This is where you get to ask me questions! What movie to watch next, what movie your kids would like, what song dance it might be fun to try to learn, and so on. And you can keep swinging back here all week as you think of new questions!
Now, question for you! A fun one, of course (always fun!), What genre of songs should be the theme of the next song post I do?
Waterfalls? Love triangles? College songs? Function songs? Anything you can think of, I will do!

I can suggest a harder one for you, melodious songs with beauyiful lyrics with no cross contamination of languages… such as pure hindi , telugu, tamil etc songs… for example no english or punjabji mixed with hindi etc…. Its hard to find them, the last one i know was aashiqui 2!

I don’t think I could identify them, even if I could find them! Hindi-Punjabi, or Tamil-Telugu would sound just too similar too me. Hindi-Tamil, or English-Hindi I could recognize, but that’s it.

I’m sorry that there is any need for it, but I’m enjoying seeing Indian celebrities of all kinds advocating social distancing, etc. I mainly bring it up here because, again, what’s up with his teeth? He’s deliberately not showing them, but when they do show, they are different. With his long hair also being covered, it makes me wildly hope that he’s wearing some kind of prosthetic for a role? Werewolf, or dare I say it, vampire?!?! I need to know your thoughts!
Songs–maybe to simplify desivoltaire’s request, I could suggest just Hindi songs with very little or no English or Hinglish in them? You could start with songs with lyrics by Irshad Kamil. He has written Mere Naam Tu, Safar and Hawayein, and Manwe Laage, some of my favorite SRK love songs. (Well, Safar’s not really a love song, but so nice and melancholy.)

What about Javed Akhtar songs? I love his lyrics, the more you think about them the more beautiful they are, and I feel like he inspires composers to be more melodic too.
Once we finish our Sid-Varun cruise ship pirate love story fanfic, I think obviously the next group writing needs to be Shahrukh Teeth and Wigs Based Plots.

If you want pure then Gulzar for anything purely Urdu/Hindi all the way! The man is such a genius! He also has a book which is a treasure trove of lyrics and meanings and why he chose them.

Have you seen this? It was supposed to premier I suppose at this time until current circumstances stalled the release. It was in the Busan Film Festival though. The music sounds so good!

Oh cool! I knew about it, but I didn’t know there was a trailer yet! I really really really really want Rahman to release the soundtrack, even if the film is delayed. He announced it ages ago, I think he is producing it himself for the first time, so I am assuming he is saving his very best songs for it.

I need help. Some time ago somebody, I think yjbasu, recommened me a movie and I forgot the title. It was 90′ or 2000 tamil movie (or telugu, but I think tamil) and it was about two brothers played by the same actor. One brother is bad and one good and of course they fight for one woman. What is the title of the movie? If I remember well it was one word title.

Youtube has this movie in tamil, telugu and there is even kannada remake with Sudeep, but none of them with subs. and italian Prime doesn’t have old tamil movies 😦 But I will check other sites too. Thanks again.

I was inspired by all of our elephants and turtles in the fan fiction to say songs with animals, but everyone got all intellectual up there with Gulzar and Javed and pure Urdu lyrics and now I’m embarrassed. Maybe you’ve done it already.
