An important question! I have two main contenders, and I need your help to help me decide.
Okay! Two choices!
Khoobsurat
Pros: Happy movie, movie many of us are familiar with, only 2 hours long, easily available on Netflix.
Cons: Not as much to talk about, maybe we are TOO familiar with it?
Aaja Nachle
Pros: Lots to talk about, it’s Akshaye Khanna’s birthday week, Madhuri!
Cons: 2 hours and 20 minutes long, available on Prime which sucks
Gonna be honest, I’m leaning Aaja Nachle, just because there is so much meat there!
But I can be talked out of it. Or if there is any other movie you want to suggest!
I’m going to keep pushing this movie till I wear down your resistance through sheer relentless pestering — Dolly ki Doli. It’s another light Sonam movie that apparently nobody else here has seen, and it’s pretty short. I don’t know about it’s streaming status, however. Heck, it may even be on Youtube.

I haven’t seen either, so am game. Will probably be late though so it’s not ideal to watch something for the first time.

Hmm. Let’s see what other people say. Especially in terms of if they can even make it.

I’m so sad I missed Aiyaa! Got a last minute work request Friday afternoon. I think our bosses are nervous about us starting the weekend early while teleworking, lol.
I’m good with either! I’ve seen Aaja Naachle and not Khoobsurat. How did using the comments work out? I saw that there are many comments on the thread.

I think it worked great! Nice mix of replies and new comments, and now there is an archive for people to look at later.
Is 2pm Chicago/3pm Eastern a good time for you? I am officially off work at 1 on Fridays so I can do whenever.

That’s good! 3 pm should be fine for me, generally. Later would be fine too, earlier wouldn’t work. 🙂

I am so sorry, I missed Aiyaa too. It’s been a bit nuts with work. I am hoping I can join on Friday. I live Madhuri and Kunal but I am still voting for Khoobsoorat.
In another news, I am doing the opposite if you. I finally convinced my dad of coming to live with us for the next few weeks. He just got here yesterday, so now I have a new puppy and a dad living with me. Should be exciting!

It’s super fun living with your Dad! I encourage you to start a conversation about a) taxes, b) proper way to load a dishwasher, c) dog care. It may just be my father, but those are top discussion points for us. Also, we have set up a rotating schedule of who gets to pick the movie night by night, which is VITAL.
I hope you can join on Friday too! With the Comments system, I think it should be easier to half-watch while doing other things, less refreshing of twitter and worrying about missing something if you aren’t looking second by second.

Since I haven’t seen Khoobsurat I’m voting for it (it’s on einthusan thankfully) and I am so glad to know I am not the only one.

No, that is the worst idea ever!!!! Sorry, but the idea of this watchalong is to give us escape and community and happiness. There will be no sad movie discussions on this blog for the indefinite future.

Got it, what is your next series watch apong going to be?

I’m debating, because Made In Heaven didn’t get that many views/comments. It has to be something light, so nothing like Delhi Crime. There really aren’t that many high quality light streaming serieses out there, which I think is actually a condemnation of the whole streaming concept, a mediocre thriller show will keep people watching to the end to find out what happens, but a light show needs to be entertaining episode by episode.
