Friday WatchAlong: Which Madhuri Movie Should We Watch for HER BIRTHDAY????

Obviously on Madhuri’s day, it has to be a Madhuri movie. And luckily (?), there are limited Madhuri options on Netflix and Prime. I will try to describe the options and, possibly, allow my prejudice to struggle through. Oh, and there are some movies I just didn’t even include.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Prime and Netflix)

Access is a big plus with this one! Plus it’s a classic, and Madhuri is gorgeous. On the downside, no real plot to it, nothing much happens, and it is old-fashioned and slow which can be a turn off.

Dil to Pagal Hai (Prime)

Shahrukh of course, that’s good. But all that spandax? And personally I don’t like it. On the other hand, I know everyone else does, especially children for some reason.

Kalank (Prime)

Well, this is a terrible movie. But the costumes are gorgeous and so are the songs. Terrible role for Madhuri though.

Aaja Nachla (Prime)

My personal top choice! Akshaye Khanna, Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui all in one movie. Along with Konkona Sen Sharma and Kunal Kapoor. And great songs and bright colors and happy message and all of that too.

Anjaam (Prime)

Shahrukh again! In a TOTALLY RIDICULOUS movie. So much vengeance, so much woman in prison, so much drama. So much acting.

Dil (Prime)

Aamir and Madhuri! In a young love story, with the all time greatest wedding scene in Hindi film history.

Which do you want? Which is available in your place in the world? Which do you really hate and refuse to watch again?

  1. I happen to like Dil despite all the crazy, but I think you’ve finally worn me down and I kinda want to watch Aaja Nachle now…

    • How have two separate people chosen Dil and no one has chosen HAHK until you?

I think it’s because of a hidden hatred for Tuffy.
