THERE WILL BE AN INTERMISSION!!!! We will pause at the interval (an hour and 40 minutes into the movie, 4:40pm), and restart 10 minutes later (4:50pm) I will announce Woo-hoo, Karan Johar week grand finale!!!!! At 3pm Chicago time, I will hit “play” on the movie and start up the comments. You start at the same time and just comment along with us. Refresh regularly to see the new comments (might be worth it setting up a wordpress account to make it easier).
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham! Available an almost every service, from Netflix to Prime. I’m excited!!!!
Trying the WordPress app. Fingers crossed

Isn’t it fascinating how Amitabh’s hair is a different color than his beard? Must be a genetic oddity, I am sure

Jaya looks so much older in this movie than in Kal Ho Na Ho! I can’t believe this one came first.
LikeLike
I was just thinking that!!! But I don’t know if it’s because in Kal Ho Na she was a little thiner?

I think makeup and traditional clothes make that transformation

Think she lost weight in between

She also got better hair I think, colored it darker and layered it or something.

I am positive that 90% of the “India” scenes were actually filmed on location in England, including this sequence. That just can’t be what an Indian boarding school looks like.

So far as I can tell, the grandmothers live in a temple? I’m just gonna roll with it, temple/old folks home.

At least it’s a large and pristine temple

Love the grandmas! But, where is that supposed to be…their house?
LikeLike
I think they moved into a temple? It’s not a normal thing, that’s for sure. Let’s say they moved into a retirement community attached toa temple complex and pretend that’s normal.

A very posh retirement complex – temple then…
