  1. Already this movie captures the American experience better than any other Indian film. Commute to work in your big car, get donuts from the local place, say “hi” in the elevator.

  2. I find the Sid and Jackie relationship really cute in this movie. I would happily watch a standard Indian romance just about the crazy woman and her sane responsible best friend with a crush on her.

  3. Chucky is so good and cute in this movie and I wish she would get more challenging roles because I think she can handle them. She does light comedy really well.

  4. Sid M. is, like, really good in these action scenes, right? I don’t think he had an special training, just works hard to learn the moves on set.

  5. I’m torn, would this scene be better shirtless? The tux with button undone is a smooth look, but shirtless has a kind of simple grace to it.

  6. And a moment of conscience. I really like how they build Sid’s character and how it subverts action movie tropes.

  7. “Sorry aunty” at Patel’s hot dog stand, that’s what makes this movie so brilliant, all those throwaway lines that are so funny and incisive

  8. Mini story: When I was still working in person, I caught my first cheater of my teaching career, and her name is Kavya. Spells it differently, but sours this and HSKD for me a bit.

  9. Can we agree that this sequence starting here is the most stressful part of the movie? SHE DOESN’T LIKE YOU LIKE THAT! YOU ARE GOING TO RUIN THE FRIENDSHIP!!!

  10. I really really like Jackie’s character in this scene. Perfectly written and acted. no sense of her “owing” him something or feeling guilty, just really worried about hurting his feelings and breaking the friendship somehow and trying to stop him without stopping him.

  11. I love Dixit’s family!!!! And that we never get a backstory or anything, he just has a nagging wife who happens to be central Asian!

  12. This movie is a really nice juxtaposition of my..preferences, I guess, looks wise. “Rishi” Sid is my fantasy guy, but terrifies me, tattoos included. If I actually had to pick, I’d go with “Gaurav” Sid. Still got the looks, but sweet and nice and…tame.

  13. Gotta give him credit for singing Hindi in an American bar. Even if there are no subtitles on my movie for some reason.
