  1. Akbar was of course already married multiple times for multiple other alliances, but the film doesn’t exactly claim that is not th case, just leaves it open. And this would be his first Hindu bride, I think.

  2. Little thing that this movie did so well, by this point we know Akbar’s character and are aware that he is angry not because a “girl” is telling him what to do, but because ANYONE is telling him what to do and disrespecting his hard won power and intelligence.

  3. Like, she was meant to go be queen of another city/state and her parents gave her zeeeero preparation for things like people not liking her & court intrigue. Her problems were magnified by her marrying a mughal, yes, but marrying Ratan Singh wasn’t likely to be entirely sunshine and daisies. Poor Jodha. 😦

  4. Hrithik’s acting style is perfect for this role. With his stutter, he already speaks carefully and thoughtfully, and so much of what he conveys is non-verbal. Which would also be true of royalty, careful of their words but letting their body speak so folks know what they want.

  5. So many trivia things! Rahman sings this song himself and it’s deeply meaningful for him, because he is a Sufi Muslim. Converted after his younger sister (I think) almost died when he was a young man. Also, the two guys in the second row are twins, because they wanted as much uniforimty as possible. Also, HATS!!!!!

  6. I love this song and how it shows that Hrithik is going to be a leader who can be moved to act, just by having him stand up to dance with the sufis (?) of his own volition. He decides what he wants to do, on his own terms, but it doesn’t mean that he ever feels like he’s beyond the reach of the world/external forces.

  7. I don’t want all the pressure of a “first night”, but I REALLY don’t want it in a TENT!!!! Everyone can hear EVERYTHING! And there’s bodyguards right outside and stuff!

  8. White sheets, and she is still fully clothed, I guess there is going to be talk anyway. Oh well, maybe she can say Akbar was just very tidy

    • I thiiiink she was the one that bullied the family into marrying off one of Akbar’s sisters to a guy that wasn’t great, so that checks out.

  9. In the land of jewelry and hats, the foster mom’s decision to dress like a widow is a real power move. Even Akbar’s Mom, also a widow, didn’t go white cotton.

  10. Stop being mean to Hrithik for marrying a pretty lady! Mostly because he isn’t going to forget it if you’re mean, even if he’s nice to you now….
