  1. Love the mutual “but let’s not fight in front of the parents”. Although surely the story of the drawbridge fight hsa reached them? Or does Akbar just have that much control on his fort?

  2. I’m trying to imagine her directing staff to create a screen to divide the room in two. They might not be fighting in front of the parents, but ALL the staff know.

  3. I definitely get the vibe of him playing with her a little bit, like his swordsmanship is so far beyond hers, this is nothing for him. But again, it doesn’t feel like misogyny, just that he is the best swordsperson in all of India, so it would be playing with someone no matter who the fight was with. We already saw that with his foster brother, took him 3 seconds to disarm him.

    • He doesn’t have to make her feel bad that he’s better than her, but he definitely knows she’s not playing around “hey, remember we’re married? Hey–!” Plus he never tries to make people feel bad when he’s better than them at something and only hopes that they’ll do the favor in turn when they’re better than him.

      • Exactly! He knows his worth, but he isn’t proud about it. We see that over and over, he listens to his advisors, but when he is sure of himself, he is sure.

  4. If I weren’t watching with all of you, I would go rewind that scene and see it three times in a row… For now I’ll just try to remember Hrithik’s curls bouncing and his gleeful smile.

  5. I was just saying that he isn’t cocky or anything, simply proud and aware of his talents withs words. Totally the same with his “oh yeah, now I am sure, you are going to come back to me of your own accord” comment to Aish. He wasn’t sure, but now he knows.

  6. When I first watched this scene I for sure thought it was going to be a musical moment/song when he started talking to the people in the market after the guy gets dragged off by the guards.

  7. You can tell both of them have been rehearsing what they’d say to one another when they saw each other again, they had to say it perfectly–and they’re both so happy that their words were received so well when they finally get the chance to say them!

  8. I just asked my husband, who is on a tight work deadline, to take our dog out to pee. He came into my office and saw what I was watching and goes: Oh you are watching the Jewel Thief (his reference to Hrithik from Bang Bang). No wonder you can’t be bothered. Eye roll.
