Christmas season officially starts THIS FRIDAY!!!! So I want to watch Christmas Movies. By a broad definition of including at least one scene that is Christmas related, OR being about Illegitimate Babies.
As I see it, there are two kinds of Christmas Movies in Indian film. The kind that has a specific Christmas reference, like Malang which specifically takes place over Christmas in Goa complete with Santas. Or the kind that has a general “miracle illegitimate baby” reference.
So here’s what I have come up with so far:
Malang
Drugs, vengeance, sex, and SANTAS!
Kaho Na Pyar Hai
Santa! And also, reincarnation (sort of)
Aradhana
Magical illegitimate baby
Zindagi Na Milagi Dobara
Farhan Akhtar=Jesus, Naseeruddin Shah=God
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna
There’s a Christmas sequence in the middle of a song, close enough

I may be wrong, but I think there is a little bit where they talk about celebrating Christmas?
Can you think of any others? And which do you want to watch this Friday? Or Saturday?

Hrithik is great, and there’s the whole “Santa counting down to midnight on Christmas Eve and then we all kiss” sequence, which I find very Christmassy in the best pagan way.

It is funny, Parineeti is actually good. One male lead but TONS of strong female leads. But heads up – With vacations and tree getting and hubby’s birthday I have no confidence that I can actually watch this week. But I never know, so maybe! Alas the scene I posted was a total spoiler, didn’t realize you hadn’t seen it. Sorry.

In doing research, apparently there were small Christmas scenes in 2 States and Dilwale
