Friday WatchAlong: Kaho Na Pyar Hai or Malang or Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna? And Friday or Saturday?

Still all Christmas movies all the time! Within the broad definition of Indian film “if it has a Santa in the background, close enough”. Also, still jumping between Friday and Saturday depending on what works best for people.

Christmas! Christmas Christmas!!!!

Kaho Na Pyar Hai

Rising from the dead, party Santa, Christian heroine, all kinds of Christmas stuff in here. Also, Hrithik!

Malang

Christmas in Goa! Santa parades, murder, drugs, casual sex, everything that is part of my Christmas holiday, for sure. Also, hot ARK!!!!

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna

Infidelity, coats, New York, and shopping. And a Christmas tree in the background sometimes. Also, SRK!!!!

Which do you like? And is Friday afternoon or Saturday morning better for you this week?

    • Also, I promise to be there this Friday if you end up picking Friday. Missing the last two watchalongs has been like missing therapy appointments. I need snark and the weekly dose of DCIB community comments to keep me going!

      • Plus, you STILL haven’t won a Christmas card!!!!

Okay, if you are definitely coming this Friday, I will consider Kaho Na Pyar Hai. To continue our Hrithik theme.

        • I will absolutely be there. Last Friday I couldn’t join because we went out hiking as a family and the Saturday before I ended up having an early morning doctor’s appointment follow by Theo the dog’s training. I really don’t have much of a life currently but the couple things I did have the last couple weekends seemed to have been annoyingly in conflict with the watchalongs. This Friday, I am blocking my calendar for the watchalong

  1. I watched Malang twice and might do a third time just to see Anil strut his stuff, if that’s the choice, and if it’s on Saturday. Of course ARK is always binge-worthy, but this time his relationship with Disha annoyed me. For some reason, both she and Shradda can do that to me. If I can’t join you, I’ll console myself rewinding the good parts of Fitoor, where ARK, for some reason, does his art shirtless. (Okay, I know the reason.)

    • Oh dear, it’s looking like not Saturday. But I will keep Malang in mind for a Saturday.

  2. AHHH! The highschool me is just giddy!!! I was so in lust with him after this movie. My sister and I practiced dancing to Ek Pal Ka Jeena over and over again!

    • We watched it in my sister’s dorm common room, and the RA had to come yell at us because we screamed too much when Ek Pal Ka Jeena started. It’s that kind of movie.
