DCIB Doggies!!!!!! And Also Cats

Doggies!!!!! I asked, and you shared. Oh, and also cats.

Skrogers doggies:

BREED:  AKC German Shepherd Dogs
NAMES:  tricolor is Shah Chalo
white is Miss Polar Bear’s Polly
AGES:  9 years and 18 weeks
WEIGHT:  Chalo 85 pounds and Polly is 45 pounds
Chalo is regal
Polly is puppy

Docanita’s kitty, “This is Bodhi, my very chill buddy in our small community in the Canadian Arctic. He’s 2 yrs old, very affectionate and playful.”

Angie’s sister’s absolutely scrumptish puppy, “His name is Lilo and he is 3 months old (more or less)”

FilmiKudhi’s Theo and his hated graduation hat:

Maria Gil’s dog, full name “Teddi Gloria Gil”

Breed: unknown

Age: 1 year, more or less

Weight: 13 lbs

Disposition: diva

Emily’s kitty, “Here’s my Neni. She’s a nice old lady, 14 years old now.

Full name: Malena. Named after the lead character from Malena es un nombre de tango, an Almudena Grandes novel. (Her sister was Lulú from Las edades de Lulú.)
Weight: 9 lbs

She gets more play than she would altogether prefer from the boys. Now that it’s winter, she would like to be left in peace on her cozy bed on the radiator. She is patient with children and friendly with strangers.”

And of course, my Albie Dog. 29 pounds, 3 years old, perennial puppy. Never feels warm enough all winter.

I was going to ask who is cutest, but let’s be real, it’s Angie’s Lilo by a mile. No competition.

So instead let us all just admire the beauty of each other’s pets! And how wonderful it is that these creatures exist just to make the lives of humans better.

  1. Good morning. My wake up routine is down at 7, open Teddi’s pet door, coffee and social media. I usually don’t get to DCIB until 8 in deference to your earlier time zone. But today, there it was, lovely doggies and kitty’s to greet me!

Skrogers shepherds are magnificent, I want to give Lilo a big smooch, fell in love with Theo first time I saw him, Malena, what a face! And of course, superstar Albie whom I’ve known since before he got his name. Thank you.

Couldn’t see Bhodi’s pic. Maybe try again?

Furry friends in the AM, Fitoor later.
It’s going to be a good day.

    • Poor Bhodi! I think his photos are too large to display easily, I will need to fiddle with them.

So glad I was able to contribute to your good morning! It really is a magnificent collection of animals, isn’t it?

  2. Holy cuteness overload! This is amazing! We need frequent updates on these pets. Unfortunately, Theo’s next big milestone is going to be his neutering surgery. Poor puppy. He is not going to be happy.

    • Yes, but it will make your life so much better. Neutered dogs are Best Dogs.

  3. My son’s and my plan works – we visit my sister and Lilo often and he knows us well now. The other day he was so happy to see us he peed on himself.
Unfortunately no change in my son’s fear of dogs. He likes Lilo but the dog is so crazy and full of energy and bites so much one can trust him. I think my son will remain a cat person.

    • Shout out for the cat people! Especially cat gentlemen.

My mom started walking the neighbor’s dog to help me get over my fear. It worked eventually, I dog sat more than baby sat to earn spending money growing up. Always thought I would eventually get a dog too, but now my son is allergic so we’ve stayed a cat only household.

  4. Love the DCIB furry friends post, it is fuzzy holiday cheer genius. They don’t even know they’re blog mates, the adorable little fur people.

Side dog story: on a video call today, my colleague mentioned her quarantine puppy she adopted was supposed to be a year old and mostly grown at 35 lbs. Only he was not and now he’s 80 lbs! They had also told her low shedding, not true either as it turned out.

    • Oh dear! Albie Dog arrived with a tissue of lies as well, but I had an honest shelter volunteer who said “yeah, none of this is true”. He was not a Chihuahua, he was not over a year old, and he was probably not house trained.

  5. Bodhi is very handsome and dignified. I have a soft spot for black cats.

The puppies are all adorable and I appreciate not having to raise a baby dog right now. From ally co-workers’ stories it seems like a lot of work. Might push me over the edge of just being able to manage.

    • Probably wise. My parents got a puppy when I was 3 and my sister was 5, which was not the wisest decision. Basically they went from one baby in diapers, to two babies in diapers, to one baby, to a puppy having accidents all over the house. We have some furniture that we aren’t sure if my sister left tooth marks, or I did, or the puppy did. Great dog of course, very VERY hectic household.

On the other hand, if you get the right sort of older dog, he can help raise the boys for you!
