What fun! For me! And hopefully also some of you. I’ve been on a minor Christie binge, and I just put up a detailed Christie post, and now I want to just chat.
I think mine is still the first one I read, Sleeping Murder. It’s a great plot, it has a happyish ending, and it’s a really good storyline in terms of making the female voice prominent and telling women to trust themselves.
Which do you want made into an Indian movie?
At the moment, I think The Mysterious Affair at Styles. Because there is a married love story! And Indian films do that SO well!!!! A young beautiful woman who told her older boring husband when he proposed that she didn’t love him but was willing to marry him just to take the pressure off her impoverished parents. And then of course she thinks he just married her out of pity, and he thinks she married him out of desperation, and it’s all juicy misunderstandings, and then there is a murder. And there’s a secondary romance that is a similar theme but different, the guy who acts like he hates the girl because he can’t afford to marry her and is trying to kill his feelings.
Okay, you go!
