Yes, exactly what I was thinking! Trying to think what character he would be, he’s too old for brother or love interest I think.

My guess would be the father of Kamala Khan.

That would make the most sense to me.

Father! I don’t know if I’m ready for Fawad as father of a teenager.

Me either but maybe he can be a hot, single, youngish father that is Ms. Marvel’s love interest?

Oh, that is so much worse! Ms. Marvel is supposed to be still in high school I think.

Not in the Marvel movies. In Captain Marvel she was an ex-U.S. Airforce fighter pilot and said to be somewhere between 28 and 34.

Oh no, this is a whole different character! Captain Marvel is Captain Marvel, as seen in film. Ms. Marvel is a Pakistani heritage Muslim teenager living in New Jersey who is a fan of Captain Marvel and therefore takes her name when she gains superpowers. It’s very very cool, the first Muslim superhero in Marvel, and written by a Muslim woman. And there’s all this relatable stuff about balancing her secret super life with her respect for her parents’ rules and things. The comic book series has been around for a while and was a surprise hit (shocker, teenage girls like relatable heroes too), and now she gets a TV series and then a movie.

Obviously, the other reason this is of keen interest to me is if Fawad would *need* to come to Jersey City to film on location.

Yes! And your boys could be extras in the crowd scenes! And you could MEET him!

And yes, it gets confusing with all the variations of the same name, but the premise of the first Ms. Marvel comics is that she’s a huge comics geek and Captain Marvel fan, and when she starts getting her powers, which give her to power to change her body, she goes out to fight bad guys looking like the blonde, Amazonian Captain Marvel, but eventually discovers that she’s happier and more powerful looking like herself (and with a less revealing costume). Anyway, as you can see in this excerpt, dad is not a sexy Fawad type, he’s just a dad dad.

Which still leaves me wondering. Maybe they’re creating a character for him. I don’t think they’d make him a bad guy.

Maybe wise indulgent uncle who helps her navigate teen years?

Thank you both for the clarification on Ms. Marvel. I had erroneously assumed that this series would be a continuation of the characters from Avengers like Wanda Vision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Also, after reading the excerpts, yes, Ms. Marvel’s dad is definitely not a hot dad. They better not make Fawad a villain. I also really want him to have some romance in the new series because he is just so drool worthy!

(sorry, reading back my comment it sounds needlessly superior. I’m not superior! I’m just really excited about Ms Marvel!)
What about, Fawad is the hot liberal supportive young uncle, and then he has a romance with Monica Rambeau, who is also supposed to be in the next Marvel movie? Because I think Captain Marvel is a Gay Lady, so that wouldn’t work. But Monica Rambeau is not gay, so far as I know, and is awesome and tough and stuff. Also, Black! In my dream ideal version, she is a Nation of Islam Muslim, and so she and Hot Supportive Uncle Fawad can get together and it be a lesson about how international and varied the Muslim family is!

Your comment didn’t sound superior at all. Seirously, thanks for the clarification!
I am all about Fawad being the hot uncle with a romance with Monica Rambeau. I really liked her in Captain Marval so I would love her as a grown up to be romantically involved with Fawad!

Agreed. It would be malpractice to cast Fawad and give him no flirting or gazing scenes. We’ve been so deprived.

I’d be open to a Monica Rambeau pairing. She’s complicated in ways that would make it interesting. Not least of which, if Fawad is a normal guy, is that she now has superpowers.
In the comics, the Jersey City Pakistani community grounds Kamala and connects her to her real self and where she gets her values and humanity from. This is why I don’t think they would make him either a villain or a superpowered hero type.

Oh oh! Hot young Imam!!!! He grounds her in her faith and her purpose, and also makes flirty eyes at Monica Rambeau. Like, maybe she and Monica have to hide out at the Mosque at some point? And he brings them chai? And his hands meet Monica’s and he gazes at her? And tells her that her talents are a gift from God and she is a miracle?

Somebody tried to watch Kunal Kapoor’s Koi Jaane Na? I saw the first minutes and was turned off by Kunal dressed up as creepy big Sikh.

I have been meaning to watch it but it’s just so dark that I have to get into the right mindset for it. I’ll watch it after I finish Radhe this week.

I gave it a go but had to stop, the hero was bad enough but the heroine was absolutely unbearable. Plus there is no story at all (or anything else).

Thanks. The trailer was both confusing and boring and seems the movie is exactly like that too. What a waste of sexy Kunal 😐
LikeLike
Yes, it is exactly like that. Kunal is extremely hot, but his character is a wet blanket with the world’s worst taste in women. Like, he is this world weary middle aged guy and the love interest is a chirpy very young woman who acts like she is a stupid 12 year old. Then some teenager is trying to seduce him. What person who is into Kunal likes that?
