Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me the Week of MY BIRTHDAY?

Happy Monday! And happy birthday week to me! I don’t think I’ve mentioned my birthday on the blog before? But now that I am a mature almost 36 year old, I think I can handle being the center of attention (blurgh). Especially since this year in Real Life I am going to be completely isolated, yaaaaaaaaaay! My dream birthday! I rented a luxury hotel room at super cheap rates, I am going to enjoy a king size bed and cable TV and a clean bathroom all to myself. Also, I booked a luxury pedicure and massage. Ahhhh.

Ask me anything you want from “who else’s birthday is this week?” to “how do they celebrate birthdays in India?” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of questions!!!

And now, a question for you: this is a birthday filled week! Also this week are Sunil Dutt, Amrita Rao, Shilpa Shetty, Dimple Kapadia, and Sonam Kapoor. Which of these people do you like best?

So sue me, Sonam Kapoor!!!! She has tight right politics, she supports other women in every way, her fashion is always interesting, and her wedding was AMAZING. Also, she picks really talented co-stars (Rajkummar Rao, Fawad Khan, Abhay Deol, etc.). Yes, she wasn’t the bravest talentedest man in politics like Sunil Dutt, but Sunil got weak in his old age, I pick Sonam!

    • HA! Yes, that is indeed enough!!!! Plus she survived Big Boss, Richard Gere, and Akshay Kumar.

  1. What is the actual date of your birthday? My sister’s is on Wednesday and that would be insane if they were on the same day.

Also, how is the weather in Chicago? It is insanely hot and humid in NJ until Friday and my school does not have AC so I am currently Suffering.

    • Birthday is tomorrow 🙂

It is super SUPER hot here! And supposed to be rainy and stormy tomorrow. Which should have no effect on my hotel room/massage/pedicture plan. Also, UGH to unairconditioned schools!!! They weren’t air conditioned where I grew up either, which was part of the reason the school year always ended in late May.

  2. Happy upcoming birthday!!! I figured it was your birthday this week when you mentioned potentially taking a mini hotel break in your Wednesday post last week, but I didn’t want to say anything in case you wanted to continue keeping it a secret.

You know my vote, (sorry Popka) but SONAM all the way! You already listed all the reasons to like her, so I don’t need to get into them. To add to your list, she also seems to have the most supportive family and I want to be friends with her and Rhea.

    • Yes! I want to take a minibreak for our joint birthdays with Sonam some year! IT would be such fun!

  3. Happy Birthday!!! I suppose I’ll go for Sonam on the list. My reasons are shallow – bringing Fawad to Hindi films, fun wedding videos, etc.

Do you have any interest in Family Man 2? I’m guessing not, I don’t think anyone here does. I’m loving it, just like season 1! Samantha has a kickass role. The coolest thing is the usage of Tamil and Hindi, and all the confusion that arises due to characters not understanding one or the other.

    • I do have interest! Family Man has Manoj Bajpai, and Raj and DK writing, all stuff I love! My only concern is that the spy genre can be a bit stressy for me. But maybe spy genre stress will be a nice break from Moving Stress?

      • Yeah there is the stress inherent to the spy genre, but for me the more stressful parts were when they drew upon real life incidents and beliefs, all done very well of course. The best thing is how they balance humor with the seriousness, so you don’t linger on the dark stuff.

  4. Happy birthday! Hotel by yourself and a massage sounds perfect to me. (Although I’ve been so isolated during the unpleasantness that I actually look forward to seeing people these days). Anyway, I hope it’s splendid!

I like Sonam but going with Dimple! She’s my role model, except for the Rajesh Kapoor thing.

I am crushed to find that Prithviraj is not actually in the dog movie. It’s his production company. Honestly it looks really enjoyable though.

    • Rajesh Khanna! Rajesh Kapoor is in Om Shanti Om. I love that you mixed them up.

      • Oh, duh! You know you’ve been watching Indian movies for a while when your subconscious gives you Kapoor for Khanna.

  5. I’ll phrase this as a question so it can go here: in honor of end of school, what do you think about doing a teacher themed post? I was thinking something like worst movie teachers who are supposed to be good teachers (like maybe SRK in Mohabbatein? Vijay in The Master?) and/or worst movie teachers who are supposed to be bad teachers (Zaheer Iqbal in Notebook comes to mind).

  6. Happy Birthday!!!! Hope you are living it up in that hotel. I do enjoy Sonam, but I adore Dimple. As she gets older she gets better and better!

    • I did live it up in that hotel! I showered 3 times in 2 days without worrying about monopolizing the bathroom for other people.
