Saturday Morning WatchAlong: Jab Harry Met Sejal! To Celebrate My Move! 7:30am Chicago Time

Happy Saturday! I slept soooooooo good, again, in my nice new apartment with all the airy space and happy doggie and so on. Yes, I do miss my father bringing me coffee and breakfast every morning. But I can just pay people to do that for me!

Jab Harry Met Sejal! Somehow, we always come up with new things to say about it, no matter how many times we’ve watched it. And it’s soothing and happy and nice and good. Ahhhhhhh. JHMS. So happy. Still on Netflix or any other service where you bought it. Enjoy together!

  1. Also, I WANNA GO ON A TRAIN!!!! Stupid relatives all moving near by. When I was growing up through college, I had multiple relatives a train ride away, I was on a train at least 4 times a year. And then they all moved to Chicago except my sister, so it’s either driving distance or a plane ride. BOOOO!!!!

Next time I visit my sister, I should totally try taking a train.

      • Okay, I don’t want to go on an overnight train! Because I am a Normal Height person and even train seats start hurting my knees after more than a few hours. I just want to go on a nice 4-6 hour train ride like I used to. Maybe I should go down to St. Louis and show up on the doorstep of the people who bought my grandparents’ house? Just for fun?

          • If I weren’t 5 inches longer than all seats/beds on trains, I would probably enjoy it.

  2. I honestly don’t think he can button the top 4 buttons on this shirt, right? His boobies would just pop them open again. I have several shirts where I have that problem, my Mom says I should use invisible safety pins to keep them closed. SRK should try that.

  3. I love that he is kind of trying to push her away but also in love. She is trying so hard to convince herself that she is going to go away at the end. It’s all posture from both sides!

  4. I still think this sequence is an artificial interval suspense! If there was no interval requirement, I don’t think it would play out like this.

  5. BUDAPEST! I’ve been on one of those trams! I was so sick! Because I always get sick when I travel. My body was not intended to leave it’s home place.

    • YES! And it’s such a perfect realistic character touch. She is allowed to be a tough lawyer because that is a Respectable thing for a girl to me. But all her toughness and strength has to be limited to that one area, her family expects her to come home and be a perfect little girl. And now she is integrating it all together.

  6. Also, the headphone cord literally connecting them is a great image. Plus, WEDDING! Oh, I just got that! They are connected and going in a circle around the city together.

  7. Now in this scene, Shahrukh has the emotional part perfectly calculated! It’s sad and emotional but not PTSD like.

  8. SUCH AN UGLY RING! All about showing the bling, not about being attractive, or even comfortable to wear. That reminds me, I need to take my own ring in to be repaired. It’s lovely and delicate, and therefore the stone is constantly falling out.

  9. Found the Yaadon Mein singer! Girl is Jonita Gandhi, of course. But the SRK part is Mohammed Irfan, who is Telegana and a Rahman discovery. He also did Banjaara from Ek Villain.

  10. This is such a happy section! Both of them have worked through all their emotional conflict and miseries and are healed. Now they just have to admit they are in love and handle that.

      • I think the subtitles are a bit off with that dialogue. He is saying you were looking for me. What I thought was lacking in me. And if you embrace it, what I thought was lacking in me, will fullfil your every need because it is not lacking anymore. You have filled it.

I don’t know if that mankes any sense. I don’t know if my explanation was any better.

  14. Love her hair here. Probably the most complicated to achieve of all her looks but looks the simplest. Character-wise, I am going to assume that she used to use blow dry and stuff to straighten her hair, but now she is just running gel through it after the shower.

    • It is basically how my hair looks when I don’t dry it. I think she probably just let it naturally dry and then they put some additional curls in them by rolling peices of her hair over the curling iron.

      • I’m at Butterfly now,a nd her hair still looks like that there. So it must be a character piece. No more make-up, no more cute outfits, no more blowdry, just natural.

  15. Okay, now I am at the kiss. Still so good!!! And going back to my “Shahrukh the actor doesn’t know how to play sexy aggressive at a bar” theory, I think we can say that Shahrukh the actor/person, when properly motivated, does know how to do a kiss of true love. That he’s experienced in life.
