Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me Thanksgiving WEEK???

Happy Monday!!! Saw Grandpa yesterday, his teeth look big. Which I remember as a Death thing. That’s fun. And today I have my annual Lady Doctor appointment, which is NOT fun. Being a woman is uncomfortable sometimes. And thus ends Margaret’s Oversharing Section

Here is where you get to ask me anything you want from “Are you going to see Bunty Aur Babli 2?” to “Is there any Indian Christmas movie???” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of new questions!!!

Now, question for you! If you had to go to a fictional doctor, which fictional doctor would you pick?

I think I would go for Sonali from Kal Ho Na Ho, 100%. And my last pick would be the doctor from JTHJ, who was an IDIOT. Treating amnesia by tracking down an old girlfriend?

  1. Basically, I’d want to make sure I’m not stuck with an Indian fictional doctor. When I was still living in the same town as my filmi friends, one of my most repeated comments at watchalongs must have been how you have to leave all common sense behind you once an Indian film enters a doctor’s office.

      • Well duh!

And you know what I’ve realized: Even within the logic of that film’s world, they never needed to hire a prostitute. Just find an expecting mother who doesn’t want to keep her child, hang a poster of Salman in her room and THEN adopt the resulting baby.

  2. So I was wondering why there isn’t a tradition of thanksgiving movies like there are Christmas movies? Is it it because thanksgiving is mainly an American thing or because thanksgiving and Christmas are basically considered one big holiday period.

    • Maybe because Thanksgiving is such a limited time frame? There are a few Thanksgiving movies, but the two that come to mind immediately (What’s Cooking and Pieces of April) are both indie films. If I am a big studio looking for a profit, Christmas movies can run for 5 to 10 weeks. Same for a TV channel, the same Christmas movie can be played every year over and over again for weeks. But Thanksgiving movies would really just be this one day and time.

      • Yeah, that makes sense. But I do think it would be fun to do a classic Christmas movie with thanksgiving instead. It could be fresh yet still familiar.

  3. Tbh I can’t think of any Indian movie doctors at the moment except for Arjun Reddy and I would definitely not go to him unless he was sober and back with Preeti. Sonali in KHNH was great though! Did she ever do any other movies with SRK?

    • Yes! (I hope so) There haven’t been any dismissal of the claims or anything and the little things (like bookings to the hotel and friends) have confirmed it one way or another. In fact, there should be an announcement soon if Pinkvilla is having those reliable sources feeding info to them correctly. Just check Pinkvilla’s IG or something for what kind of updates there have been, they have usually been the first to announce these things in Exclusive news kinds of things.

  4. Filmi doctors are always so badly written. It’s very hard to find one that make sense – or they talk rubbish, or inform your parents about your pregnancy without your consent. But I know which one is the worst for me – the doctor from 1: Nenokkadine. First he explains some random journalist Mahesh’s mental problems, and 5 minutes later he treats badly Mahesh because he doesn’t act normal and imagines things.

  5. I read Sunny Deol is going to be in Joseph remake. On one hand I’m excited because for some reason I want to see Sunny back in good roles (and this is a gret role for a mature actor) but on the other I love Joseph so much and I’m afraid what they will do with it. The director will be the same, so that’s good. What do you think about this remake? Is Sunny a good choice or someone else would be better?

My other question is about action movies in hindi. I’m not a big fan so maybe I don’t notice them when they release , but aren’t they almost non-existent? Southern action masala films dubbed in Hindi have millions of views on youtube. There is also Bhojpuri industry full of violent action. War was a blockbuster, Vidyut’s movies are nice hits also, so there cleary is a demand, but I don’t see good action movies releasing. Yeah there was Rohit Shetty’s Soorasomething lately and Salman does few films a year but I think there would be place for others. Am I just action-blind or were there some big action- flop recently? And where is Tiger these days?
