HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I hope everyone welcomed in 2022 in a lovely happy way, and of course my best wishes for all of my DCIB family in this new year. And now, let us begin it the RIGHT way, by watching Happy New Year the Movie.
Happy New Year
It’s on Netflix, it’s delightful, we’ve all seen it, what more is there to say?
At 8am Chicago time I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and we will all go from there!
“Heartless” for “kharab”?

Why is shahrukh the only guy in white in the whole place? Seems like someone else should/would be wearing white, yes?

The Deepika costumes are so FUN! I know it’s just a standard “sexy outfit”, but they are all colorful and sparkly and fun!

Okay, this romance is very “problematic” as the kids say. But my interpretation is that Charlie falls in love at first sight, but is afraid of it and trying to talk himself out of it because he doesn’t like not being in control. And that’s why he keeps saying bad things about Dips.
LikeLike
Yes, I think so, it’s romance making him awkward supposedly. Very clunky tho, the comedy really misses

Ah, I like that they show the poor theater people having to clean up after this show.

Farah has such appreciation for the smallest worker who works in her films, as seen by every red carpet type of thanks at the end of her films. I love it!! No Auteur Theory, just everyone working hard on a good film!

Those end credits sequences were exactly what I was thinking of!

A firm NO.

What’s the point of a ponytail if your hair isn’t even sufficiently long to be able to gather it all up?! Regrettable.

Naturally Abhi and Deepika get along, since neither of them can pronounce the letter Z.

Yes! Her every day clothes are so perfect, nice simply pretty outfits, but still sexy and stuff, not like she’s trying to be over modest to make up for her “sins”

Love this song! Also, hadn’t realized until this watch that we have almost an hour without songs, and then two almost back to back.

Even though there aren’t any song-songs in the early part, though, there are so many slips and bits of songs being quoted in the background.

And plenty of “spectacle” in non-song ways.

I love Boman futilely splashing a individual-sized bottle of water on it!

Also, this song supports the “he was in love at first sight and is running from it” theory. Since we can see that both of them are literally “sparking”

This is the little bit they cut from the song video trailer, and it’s my favorite part of the song, seeing her at work dreaming of him.

When l first saw it, l was totally baffled by deeps crushing on the older rat-faced chap with the awful hair choices. I mean, Sonu is right there. I knew nowt of the power of the SRK persona, had never seen him before
