Speaking of Hrithik, here is is announcing new Netflix pricing in India in a weirdly sexual way. We can talk about him, or the new pricing! That combined with the new policy of dubbing in multiple languages every new film makes me think Netflix is FINALLY figuring out the Indian market.
Okay, now I’m gonna take a bunch of boxes over to the recycling center and treat myself to coffee and then be home for the rest of the day!

The flaws of dubbing – Shibu’s English Voice in Minnal Murali is deep and oddly confident, in contrast to everything about the character. And I suspect the actor can speak English, but I guess they would have to pay more to have the actors dub it themselves.

I am sure all the actors can speak English. But, yeah, easier to get someone else to do it. I think there are professional dubbing artists in India and dubbing studios, so you can just give a contract and easily get it done by random professionals.

Argh, finally tried watching Atrangi Re and Hotstar/Hulu still has no English subtitles? Was passively hoping that would have changed.
Cold here too today, and it finally snowed yesterday for the first time this winter. Kind of nice, feels like a normal January. We’ve been holed up not seeing people again, it was good to get the smaller kid out on a long walk and run into friends he could play with in the park. Got home, waited out the end of a soccer game my husband was watching, and now…I guess I’ll find something else to watch.
Thanks for the Minnal Murali reviews, I’m excited about that one and hoping it can be a family watch. Is it too sad? I don’t know if we can do sad right now.

It’s a little sad, it is Malayalam after all.
I was able to get subtitles for Atrangi Re on Hulu. So maybe try a different platform? See if that helps?
