Wedding Season Review (SPOILERS): Wait, Why Were They Fighting?

This is gonna be a pretty short review, not a lot to talk about Deeply. But I know a lot of us have already watched the movie and I wanted a place for us to chat without ruining things for the others.

Darlings Review (No Spoilers): Great Shefali/Alia Performances, Overall Very Much a First Film

I finally watched it! And I am NOT going to tell y’all to watch it. Just because it deals with spousal abuse for large parts of the film and it’s frankly hard to watch. But if that doesn’t bother you (or if you are okay fastforwarding), it also has a kick of two central performances.

Fame Game Episodes 3 and 4: Themes! Prostitution and Giving to Others

Huh, this series is surprising me with how good it is. I thought it was just gonna be a fluffy thriller with Madhuri at the middle, but it’s really digging deep on some interesting things. Also, seriously, even if you don’t watch the whole series, go 33 minutes into episode 4 and watch that scene. It’s no spoilers, it’s fine out of context, and it is just beautiful.

Little Things Review/Spoilers: Final Episodes!!!! 7 and 8, Ends With a Whimper, Which is the Point

Ha! This whole thing turned out to be the same lesson my parents always told me, “you have to live together before you get married”. It’s TRUE!!!! You get through all the horrible messy angry stuff before you make that lifelong commitment and then you know you really want that lifelong commitment.

Mimi Review (No Spoilers): Nice Light Loving Movie, Surprisingly Little There-There

Well, now I see why so many of you said that I shouldn’t be afraid to watch this movie. It is very pleasant, very light, doesn’t really make you super feel anything. So if you want a real tearjerker deep version of a surrogate story, don’t watch this. But if you want a pleasant timepass that is unobjectionable, this is a nice one.

Toofan Review (SPOILERS): Let Us All Sympathize With the Poor Bigot! The Fragile Bigot! Who Cannot Handle New Ideas or He Will EXPLODE!!!!

It’s true, the movies have shown me. The old white man in America who has to painfully and carefully learn that, maybe, not all racism is good. Poor Lord Crawley in Downton Abbey who has to consider that maybe class distinctions are sometimes unfair. And of course all the Hindu patriarchs in Indian films who have to suffer being told that, sometimes, maybe, non-Hindus and women have a right to live.

Haseena Dillruba Review (SPOILERS): Well, This Went DELIGHTFULLY Over the Top!!!!

What a RIDICULOUS movie! Which knew perfectly well it was ridiculous. If you can’t handle tension and twists and thrillers, read this review to just know the basics of what happened and talk about it with us. Or if you saw it and have Thoughts, you can read my summary and my thoughts and then we can talk!

Haseena Dillruba Review (No Spoilers): The Funnest Kind of Sexy Trash

Super fun movie! If you like black comedy and thriller twists, you will like this. It’s also a lot lighter than you might thing, the tone never shifts into depression and misery, it’s all just mystery and surprises and ridiculousness. On the other hand, if you don’t like twists and black comedy, maybe not.
