Happy Monday! Let’s continue celebrating Lata’s life and voice. As a nice start to the week.
Here is where you get to ask me anything you want from “What was Lata’s childhood like?” to “What is the first Lata song you heard?” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of new questions!
Now, the only question that matters this week, what Lata song are you listening to?
Hey, she sang one just for me! And for all the other “pardesiya” who watch Indian film.

Very fitting.
Also this one which I’ve always had a soft spot for:

It’s sad that her particular voice tone tends to blow out computer speakers! I’m going to have to try to listen to this on my ear phones.

Both pretty sad versions sound quality wise on youtube, too.
I forgot this, which is an alltime fave (but all of these are):
It’s easy to think of Asha as the sexy one but look at these. The Mujhe Jeene Do song is also so eery, I love it.

Oh, wow! I saw that this film was on Netflix here, but have been putting off watching it due to low Vyjayanthimala tolerance. Consider me swayed.

WATCH IT NOW. It is SO GOOD. My vote for the best golden age Indian movie, even over Sujata.

This week? I listen to Lata songs every day. 🙂 That said, this week I’m avoiding all the serious/sad songs and sticking to happy ones. Like these:
Jiya le gayo jee mora sanwariya (Teenage Bindu!)
Lailo shabaab aayi jhoom jhoom ke
Dil jo na keh saka

Just came to share my joy – Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui finally arrived to Italian Netflix! One month after all the rest of the World. I was sure they won’t add it, and here it is.
The other good news – Tadap is on eintusan 🙂

I guess it was “O Paalanhare”? Because I saw Lagaan in a film festival before I saw DDLJ.

“Mr. Natwarlal”! It’s been ages since I’ve thought about that movie. A stream-of-consciousness overview of today’s playlist:

Mr. Natwarlal – such a fun movie! It was one of my dad’s favorite movies so we watched it quite a few times as kids when it was his turn to pick a movie. Now I want to watch it again!
