Sunday WatchAlong: Oh My Dog! At 11am Chicago Time! I Have No Idea If Anyone Will Show Up, But I Am Always Done for a Dog Movie!

Happy Sunday! I did soooooooooooooooo much yesterday. Cleared out the basement storage unit, did a big grocery shop, made a costume for my friend, returned a library book, bought seeds, just EVERYTHING. And now I feel achey and lazy and am very excited to sit at home and watch a movie with y’all.

Oh My Dog

It’s on Prime, it has a dog, I know basically nothing else.

At 11am Central time, I will put up an “and PLAY” comment on this post and we will go from there!

  1. Margaret – if the dog dies at the end of this movie, I will never forgive you! I’m just letting you know before hand! I can’t handle sad stuff right now.

  2. Also, is anyone else kind of feeling like Snow White here? The huntsman sent to kill the princess and failing and lying about it? That is, I assume this movie won’t actually include a puppy death

  3. By the way, Albie Dog is fascinated and watching closely. He does that when the sound people use real dog sounds in movies. Dog images don’t work, gotta be authentic barks.

    • Yeah, I always have to remind myself that it is a Thing in India to just use it as slang for “very rule following”.

  4. I will point out, similar to newborn babies in movies, this is DEFINITELY not a newborn puppy who was abandoned for being blind. This is a nice solid 4 week old puppy.

  5. I think we can agree that this is one time the “love at first sight” trope in Indian films is acceptable and believable to us?

  6. But the puppy needs water. He’s gonna get all sick if he doesn’t get water soon. Maybe he drank some during the bath?

  7. I keep wanting to poke holes in this kids puppy plans, and then remembering he is a kid and kids are stupid. THIS IS NOT SUSTAINABLE! YOU CAN’T JUST KEEP A PUPPY IN YOUR BACKPACK FOREVER!
