Happy Sunday! It’s overcast and snowy outside and both me and Albie Dog are feeling grumpy. So this film had better live up to it’s feel good rep!
Tara vs Bilal
It’s on Netflix, every DCIBer who’s seen it has given it a good review, I am willing to check it out especially if I have y’all to watch it with me.

At 8am Chicago time, I will put up an “And PLAY” comment and we will go from there!
Yeah, the table over there with the two gentlemen. I’m certain that narrows it down.

So, there’s Grandma who is indulgent, Mom who is strong, Shanno who is harsh voiced, and Zoya Auntie who is sweet. Plus two young female cousins.

The husband is too evil. It isn’t realistic.

Scramming with the money/jewelry and threatening her with the police both make perfect sense, but the whole “your traditional Indian marriage means nothing here” did feel overblown. I don’t know why a person who’s in it for the money would care either way.

I admire your faith in husbands!

It is psychopathic to want to hurt her so much AFTER taking all her money and ditching her. There just aren’t that many psychopaths around. More likely a human would try to avoid the person they hurt.
LikeLike
If we take that approach, there would never be psychopaths in movies.

What might make sense for me is he sees her still in England, with friends adn support around her, and gets worried she really will file a police report. So he has to EXTRA scare her.

Love how Tara is shipping Jiggy and Ritz already

I’m just have a hard time seeing how Harsh can be redeemed as a character.

Ooh, this could help with the visa situation.

Girl, you don’t pay for room or board. You’ll make that working for Daisy in less than a year and a half! Some accountant XD

Well, it would technically get her the working visa quicker if she has the money quicker

No, not the milk-carton-drinking!

Yeah, pretty rude in a large household.

It’s so gross! That was one of my most basic criteria when I was dating. No dating a guy who leaves toilet seats up and drinks straight from the cartons!

All my children and husband leave the toilet seat up. They will never marry women.

I’m saying it now, this movie is TOO complicated. I think they should have started at the “their two gay bffs are in love so they meet” point, the rest just makes my head hurt with coincidences.
LikeLike
Is it any more complicated than the 90s films which are miniseries’ turned into films

This lawyer thing is a total reference to Sanam Teri Kasam, and you can’t convince me otherwise

I’m not a lawyer but a contract on a piece of paper is more than the paper. If he signed that it WOULD be an agreement.

Okay, this works as an actual argument against marriage. The ladies are all pro-marriage without thinking about how it would change their lives for real.

I think the real answer is they filmed it in the middle of the night because that is when they could and they didn’t bring in extras.
