Sunday WatchAlong: Something Soothing, Any Ideas?

Yes, let’s do a watchalong! Only, I’m tired and still a little sinus-y, so a nice light watchalong. What’s a good light happy soothing movie we could watch?

It’s Alia’s birthday week, is there anything in the Alia ouvre?

Also, Holi! Any movies with good Holi songs we could watch? Besides “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na”?

Or just in general, what is a light silly happy movie? 90s or earlier is okay, so long as it’s easy to find a copy streaming.

  1. I was going to recommend Amar Akbar Anthony but then I realised that…uh …”soothing” isn’t a word you can use to describe that film 😅 (it does have a death sometime close to the climax tho… sigh) Hmm…nothing specific is coming to mind, but I’ll try to think of something!

  4. Of those suggested so far, I would love Bunty aur Babli, Duplicate, Band Baajaa Baarat or Duplicate. I watch Aatrangi Re about a week ago, so not sure I’m quite ready for it again (I expect I could manage).

My favourite Holi song (for choreography) is Gori Tu Lath Maar from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha but I don’t think I would call that light. :/ I also like the one from Darr but erm… no.

  6. Are we against Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa? It’s pretty light and easily available.

I would also be up for Humpty or Daawat.

  7. Here are light movies on Netflix I’ve enjoyed that NO ONE ELSE has watched, except maybe Angie was it, who hated one? Okay, light Netflix movies that no one except me and maybe Angie has watched!

    Bhangra Paa Le
    Plan A Plan B

I think I am available Sunday, I should be available, but my house is now fuller and so I feel like I can’t really commit to anything.

    • Your love for Bhangra Paa Le made me think that maybe I was unfair with the movie and I should try to finish it. But on the other hand Sunny is on my black list so I’m not sure.
