Ugh, I am grump today. I am almost never grumpy, but today I am. It’s been overcast for 6 days straight, and the city is finally fixing our street which is good news but also means there is this irritating construction sound background noise all the time. So I think our Sunday WatchAlong needs to be something SUPER HAPPY.

Woot, Sunday movie! I had such a day of accomplishments yesterday, got groceries and hung a picture and all kinds of things, and now it is lovely to just have a nice sloooooooooooooow morning.

Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: 7am Chicago Time, We Watch Fan! For Shahrukh Month!
Happy Sunday! Just like last week, this was a bit last minute, so if no one is able to join by 15 minutes into the film, I’ll just end it and go about my life. Partly because this movie is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to scary to watch all by myself.
Continue readingShahrukh Month Brackets: Best Villain Movie! For the Sunday WatchAlong!!!! 7am Chicago Time, We Watch FAN!!!!!

Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: Dhanak! For SRK! 7am Chicago Time!
My goodness, yesterday was exhaaaaaauuuuusting. 8 hours cold physical labor interspersed with cold standing around and talking to relatives. Which is why I went to bed almost immediately after getting home and walking the dog (at 8pm! Which is exactly 12 hours after I walked the dog right before leaving home) and now am all bright and chipper early in the morning. And only slightly guilty for falling behind in my review schedule.

Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: Dhanak at 7am Chicago Time Sunday for Shahrukh Month! Unless No One Can Make It!
This weekend is super busy for me, but in a good way. Saturday is the annual “close up the lake house” day, which is a fun day outside in the crisp weather. And Sunday my friends and I made a date to go to the zoo and see the Halloween decorations and the new baby lion (so cute!). So the only time I have for a watchalong, is pre-Zoo on Sunday morning. And just a shorter film. Thus, Dhanak!
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Saturday or Sunday Morning? Satyamev Jayate 2 or A Gentleman?
Happy Thursday! And Happy Gandhi Jayante Weekend! In honor of which, I think we have to watch a big stupid action movie, right? Satyamev Jayate 2 I’ve heard is epicly delightfully stupid, and A Gentleman is secretly BRILLIANT and FINALLY has subtitles on Hulu.
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Miss Braganza! Are You Still Around? If So, You Get to Pick Time and Movie! If Not, Dangerous Ishq on Saturday Morning!
Happy Autumnal Equinox! For once it is truly the start of fall in Chicago, it was 80 degrees yesterday and dropped to 60 today, and looks generally gorgeous outside. Makes me excited about staying in and watching a cozy movie this weekend.
Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: Hum Hain Rahe Pyar Ke! For Shelomit! 12:30pm Chicago Time!
Happy Sunday! We are watching this perfectly pleasant 90s movie that, somehow, is a beloved favorite of many of you. But, WHY??? I understand liking it, I like it myself, but a favorite? Oh well, I live to serve, so y’all get to have a nice watchalong with me.
Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: 12:30pm Chicago Time! Hum Hain Rahe Pyar Ki!
Happy Birthday Shelomit! And thank you for choosing something that’s not super super weird. While also, a little bit weird. Oh well, it’s your birthday pick, you get whatever you want.
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Shelomit! Your Pick! Please Don’t Pick Something Super Weird
Okay, weekend watchalong! Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday (American 3 day weekend, woot). And I don’t have to make any decisions, because it is Shelomit’s late birthday celebration weekend. Shelomit! You pick!

Happy Sridevi’s birthday! Thank goodness, I have managed to get enough people to do a Sridevi watchalong, would have been very sad if we couldn’t.
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Sridevi! Saturday (Tomorrow) or Sunday, Anyone?
Happy Friday! Yesterday FilmiKudhi suggested a Friday afternoon watchalong, but it’s way too last minute now. And also, I want to run some errands this afternoon instead.

Wooo, let’s do another watchalong! And it’s Sridevi Weekend, so we gotta do one of her films. Call me crazy, but I’m feeling SNAKE-Y!

Woot! WatchAlong! I am slowly getting my life back! My weird pandemic isolation movie based life! Whatever, still better than being a milk and cheezit machine for a small child like I was last week.
Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: 7am Central Time Sunday! Hameshaa, For KAJOL!!!!
Happy Kajol Weekend! We get to watch a silly silly 90s movie with baby Kajol and Saif and a couple classic songs.

I know she hasn’t really acted regularly in decades, I know her last work has been uneven, and yet I still love her. And it’s her BIRTHDAY! We have to watch something fun for her!
Continue readingSaturday/Sunday Evening or Monday Morning WatchAlong: Anyone Available?
This is the weekend of my insane cross-country driving trip (assuming my COVID tests from yesterday come back negative, now my brain has decided to worry about that). Anyway, I’m planning to drive all day and then stop early evening to get a hotel before I wear myself out, so I could do a watchalong Saturday or Sunday evening. Or early Monday Morning, my last driving day when I will have earned a slow start.
Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: 11am Chicago Time! The Pirate! Available for Rent for a Small Price on All Major Streaming Services! Also, It’s Ridiculous
Yaaaaaaaaaaaay, an American musical! So glad I get to share this one with you. And it is good for y’all to see it, because this is one of many classic American musicals that influenced both Farah Khan and Prabhudeva in their work. For real, Farah even acknowledges this one in particular as one of her hidden tributes in “Dhoom Tana”.
Continue readingSaturday WatchAlong: 11am or noon Saturday (or Sunday or Monday)!!! Can Anyone Join Me? And What Should We Watch???
I kind of am looking forward to staying inside and staying cool this weekend, let’s find a nice movie to watch together! And Saturday is the best time for me, but Sunday and Monday are also on the table.
Continue readingNo Sunday WatchAlong! Instead Let’s Brainstorm Happy Calming Weekend Activities
Well, the week started with one of my co-workers going out for surgery meaning we were down a person, continued with a sewage backup in the basement, then on to the electricity flickering, plus general heat related exhaustion and misery. I’ve finally made it to the weekend and I think I need to focus on doing anything that will make me NOT spin out with anxiety. So, no watchalong (since almost no one could join anyway), instead we shall all think of nice things to do for ourselves this weekend.
