Pathaan!!!!! Normally I’d say “if no one shows up in 15 minutes, I’ll cancel”. But I’ve been looking forward to watching this, so I don’t care if no one shows up, I’ll just happily watch by myself.

The opening is my least favorite part of the movie, very glad we are almost done with it. Get to SRK!

Best thing about seeing this twice in the cinema was seeing Shah’s face for the first time, hearing that voice, and just the stardom and charisma oozing out of him through the silver screen and onto the audience.

Huh. It just occurred to me that this is the first of 3 times when John outsmarts SRK. Not just outsmarts him, gets him to do his work for him (change the scientist’s route, steal the thing, and then take the thing back so it can go off in the lab). Shahrukh wins not because he is smarter or trickier, but because he just doesn’t give up.

John is by far one of my favorite villains. John the actor’s natural charisma helps so much. This is the same thing that happened with Dhoom (as I found out from the Romantics).

Yes! Hollywood has lost that idea almost completely, but I love India just gets it so well. Also, better villain than the one in War, no question.

On the one hand, it would be nice if the other members of the JOKR team had more personality. On the other hand, it would make scenes like this a lot sadder and not as peppy and action fun.

My friend suggested perhaps YRF got some kind of 2-for-1 deal on helicopter rentals, and that really explains much of this film. When in doubt, HELICOPTER!

The fight choreography is soooooooo good. Especially knowing the big size difference between SRK and John. But you never feel it in the fights, they use moves where size is irrelevant.

Also, I am having dark chocolate with hazelnut for breakfast with coffee because I am hungry and don’t feel like making anything. Plus something about eating chocolate for breakfast, and the chocolate being dark, creamy, and nutty seems very appropriate for the movie I am watching.

I love how in control Dips is here. She has the power and knows it, which is so appealing and Shahrukh serving in equal measure, so there is no power imbalance at least when it comes to these things

Also, generally Dips’ strongest facial asset is her smile. But in this movie particularly (maybe even for the first time?) it’s her eyes. What she does with her eyes is spectacular.

I love Dips’ skintone in this movie, I don’t know if they changed her make-up or lit her darker or if it’s just a tab, but it makes her eyes stand out in a new way.
