Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me DURING SRK MONTH???

Happy Monday!!! And Happy 13th Day of SRK! I am entering my Week of Misery, plumbers are coming to rip out and replace all the pipes tomorrow and Wednesday, followed by plasterers to clean up after them Thursday and Friday. Be prepared for a lot of self-pity from me.

Here is where you get to ask me anything from “why did you forget the SRK post yesterday?” to “why are you complaining, new pipes sound great!” Just keep swinging back here all week as you think of new questions!

Now, SRK themed question for you: Favorite current heroine, Anushka or Deepika?

This is really hard for me! I would have been a solid “Anushka” before this year, but Dips and he reached a whole other level of chemistry in Pathaan and Jawan. I think I will say, as of this moment, Deepika. But that could all change again after he does another movie with Anushka!

  2. Before the pandemic, I would have said Anushka…but Anushka isn’t an option anymore (for how long?)
I already liked the pairing with Deepika, but now, with Pathaan and Jawan, I feel the friendship and comfort they do have. Still, I’m fine with another leading lady in Dunki…
Question: What do you think here why Kajol did skip the celebration of KKHH with Rani and ShahRukh (and only posted some photos as ‘tomboy’ Anjali?).
Some think that her reply to the question what she would ask SRK (“I would ask him, How much did #Pathaan really make”) was the reason…
another question: Did you watch the Tiger 3 trailer?
Then a big THANX for still doing the SRK month…it’s kind of challenging after so many years of celebrating, I imagine 🙂

    • I thought her post of the Tomboy Anjali pictures was more than she usually did for movie anniversaries. Not knowing she skipped the celebration I thought it was a lot more than “only posted”. But you might be right about why she missed the celebration. Ajay’s movie Bholaa had amazing stunt choreography. It didn’t have all the special effects or helicopters of Pathaan, but the actual choreography was better. And it had a story very rooted in India. I can definitely see some reasons for resentment over Pathaan’s success within the family.

If there is a fight, I hope it doesn’t last long.

      • Okay, you’re right, it’s not “only” 🙂
I didn’t think at Ajay’s movie as I didn’t watch it…I may do it now. Thanks for telling.
Yes, I hope they will patch up if indeed there are some bad feelings.

    • It seems like Kajol can run hot and then regret in her friendships. I’m gonna assume they will make it up in the background without us knowing anything about it.

  4. Deepika! Deepika all the way (I may be slightly biased as Deepika has been my favourite actress in bollywood ever since she debuted) however they just have this lovely sense of calm and deep chemistry together. With Anushka I always feel she needs someone like her; who has that same bubbly sparkling quality which is why she and Ranveer were such a good pair. Not that SRK and Anushka do not work well together, its just I think their ok.

I watched Miss Shetty, Mr Polishetty which was sooooo boring. Like the male actor was doing all the work while Anushka was mostly expressionless. So I rewatched one of my favourite ‘timepass’ films which is Khiladi 786. It’s so fun and stupid and reminds me all of old bollywood. It has some mildly problematic things but Asin + Akshay have great chemistry. My question to you is have you watched Khiladi 786 or Tees Maar Khan? Personally I equally love Tees Maar Khan because of Akshayye Khanna’s performance and the general stupidity in the movie.

    • Yes, about Miss Shetty, Mr Polishetty. So slow and boring. Anushka with zero emotions just going from one part of the screen to another. I don’t understand why this film was popular. I mean, I guess it’s because people liked Naveen’s jokes. But entire movie felt like they had those few stand-up jokes and needed a movie to show them, so they came with the most basic plot ever.

      • Naveen was charming but his charm made me hate Anushka even more. She never explains anything to him and is mad that he doesn’t want to help her. I could not believe that at the end she developed emotions. I think with another actress, the movie could have worked as the actress could’ve done more with her character and made her remotely likeable.

        • I didn’t like Anushka’s character because she wanted a baby only because she was lonely. Never was she: I have a lot of love to give or I feel I can be a good mother. It was just: The house is too silent, and I don’t feel like making friends or have a boyfriend so I will buy myself a baby.

  5. Happy news! Hrithik is killing it in social media postings. Fulling discussing how much he has to give up to get into movie shape. I even reposted his post!

    Hopefully the link works.

  6. I have to say that to see Shah with Deepika on screen has always given me this ‘Wow! This movie is going to be an unforgettable experience’ anticipation/feeling. There is a magic and very natural way of co-existing between the two that reminds me a bit of his chemistry with Kajol. But I also think that Shah and Anushka radiate something very special and intimate. To me it seems like Shah hasn’t had that much trust and intimacy with another woman on screen in years. Their movies are mostly hit or misses at the box office but the ones that do work have always had me in tears. So this is honestly such a difficult choice. I think at this point I would pick Shah and Anushka just because they have made me cry so many times.

    • My theory is that it is because Anushka and Deepika were so young and he co-starred with them in their first movies. So he kind of let his guard down because he was protective and wanted them to feel safe and comfortable, in a way he wouldn’t with a more experienced co-star. And from their side, they obviously have complete trust in him and will follow his lead where ever he wants them to go in a scene.

  7. What actor would you like to see replace in PC in Akhtar’s film Jee Le Zaraa with Alia and Katrina?

I confess to not being devastated if PC is fully out of the film as her chemistry with co-stars is notoriously fickle. The first person I thought of is Anushka, because she and Katrina have chemistry to gether, but would someone else be better? Does Alia have a track record of any chemistry with other female actors?

    • Hmm. I think if I’d like to see Kareena. She’s so good when she wants to be, and she already did Veere Di Wedding and had great All Girls chemistry. Swara Bhaskar would be my top choice, but I doubt she would fit with the sort of Big Name cast they are going for.

      • You’re right, they are clearly going for the big names, but Swara has been great in everything I’ve seen her in. She would undoubtedly be good in this too.
