4 separate items, but they are each pretty tiny, so this is just a quick update! But all of these things have the possibility of turning into something super awesome and potentially juicy! So be on the alert!
In a few weeks, on May 23rd, Ian McKellen is scheduled to come to Bombay and host a talk with Aamir Khan about Shakespeare on film as part of a series of events put on by MAMI. This is kind of exciting, because it is an effort to expand MAMI beyond the annual film festival, possibly leading to a general greater respect and so on for film in India. Which is cool! But, back to this particular announcement, has Aamir been in any Shakespeare adaptations? Besides Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak?
Zeenat Aman, of the 70s awesome everything, has been called to the police station to talk about an ex-boyfriend who sounds like a bit of a cad. Apparently, he ripped off some poor NRI woman in Dubai by marrying her and then taking 3.5 crores from her. Well, “marrying” her, since he was already married to someone else. Which I guess would make Zeenat the third woman in his life, after his real wife and his fake wife? Oh Zeenat! You can do so much better!
As I mentioned a couple days ago, NOOOOOOOOOOOO! RAEES HAS BEEN POSTPONED!!!! And also, that meant that the two films already scheduled for Republic Day 2017, a Hrithik and an Ajay, might need to be rescheduled. No word from Hrithik yet, although apparently Shahrukh met and talked with him before making the announcement, but Ajay just announced that he is postponing his film to a date yet to be determined. So I guess the whole Son of Sardaar-Jab Tak Hain Jaan thing scared him off from ever competing with a Shahrukh release again.
And then there’s Salman and Katrina. Also following up on a previous post. While the engagement rumors are still bubbling about around Iulia Vantur, there are also still Salman-Kat rumors going around. She just signed to act opposite him in his next film, to be directed by Kabir Khan, possibly a period piece set in the 1960s? She is replacing Deepika, supposedly because Dips insisted on the script being re-written to increase her role. Or else because Kat and Salman are heating up again. Who knows?!?! But, either way, I am excited for the movie, since I really liked both of the previous Kabir-Salman movies, Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
