I feel like Taylor Swift is gonna come yell at me for setting women against each other. Obviously they are both winners and so on, but they also have the same birthday so I am kind of curious which one you like better.

Hindi Film 101: The Feroz Khan Family, Qurbani and Zeenat Aman’s Eye Socket
There are so many Khans around! Because it is a very common name/title in the northern regions where Urdu is spoke and men are tall and handsome and refugees fled in droves to Bombay in the 1940s. But there’s only one Khan family in Hindi film, all the other little Khanses aren’t actually related to each other. Isn’t that interesting?
Continue readingBad Girls Month: The Great Gambler! It’s All About Zeenat
I watched it! Thanks to the very few of you in the comments who encouraged me to see it. It’s quite fun, not necessarily good, but fun!
Continue readingBad Girls Month Movie Schedule!
Okay, let’s do this! I’ll probably still throw in some bonus films along the way, and it is possible that if someone suggests something awesome, I may swap out a later one for something else. But for now, this is the list!
Continue readingNews Round-Up: Dips and Ranveer Housing Plans, #MeToo and Zeenat Aman, Kedarnath Runs Into Stupidity, Kangana’s Family Background Continues to Be Confusing
Ready for me to be grumpy? Sometimes I just am, I read these news stories and think “everyone is stupid and gullible!” and it bothers me.
Friday Classics: Don 1 and 2, a Late Birthday Present for Priyanka
You have all been delightfully patient with my incredibly dull history of media series that I’ve been obsessed with for the past few days, but now it is all over and as a reward, I will do an intensive review of two movies that I suspect most of you have seen, and have opinions on.
Friday Classics: Qurbani! The Best Movie of This Kind of Movie
Did you know Feroz Khan and Vinod Khanna share a death anniversary? And it’s today? That’s kind of spooky, Jefferson-Adams 4th of July level spooky*. Clearly the experience of making Qurbani together was so important that it bonded them a deep level.
News Round-Up: More Rape Stories, Bad Luck Hits Film Sets, Copyright Confusion
Happy Monday! I haven’t done a news post in a while, but I have been reading the news. Rest assured that all the various big stories have been processed in my brain, I just choose not to address all of them. These few here are the ones I find interesting.
Happy Birthday Raj Kapoor! 63 Reasons I Love You
You’re dead, but that’s no reason to stop celebrating. Your legacy lives on in many ways. So I am going to count down 63 reasons I love you, one for every year you lived (until you died). (obviously this is a reposted post from last year, I don’t have time to come up with 63 new reasons every year, not even for Raj)
Friday Classics: Manoranjan! A Very Happy Movie About Very Sad Things
I hadn’t watched this movie in about 14 years, and by golly it is just as good as I remembered! Better actually, because back then I didn’t realize how unusual it was to have this kind of a plot.
Happy Raees Week! Let’s Talk About Qurbani, The First “Laila” Movie!
I talked about this movie a little already when the first “Laila” trailer came out. But I thought it deserved another post! Especially since Raees is supposed to pick up on the older tradition of gangster movies from back in the 80s.
Fawad’s Not Coming Back, Arjun and Varun Team Up, Zeenat’s Son is Injured!
It’s official, Fawad’s not coming back for the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions. Probably a good idea.
Quick News Update: Ian McKellen and Aamir, Zeenat Aman and a Jailbird, Ajay Devgn and Shahrukh Khan, and Salman and Katrina
4 separate items, but they are each pretty tiny, so this is just a quick update! But all of these things have the possibility of turning into something super awesome and potentially juicy! So be on the alert!
