I checked twitter this morning, and was rewarded with wonderful news! And yet another sign that Shahrukh really does care about me!
First, if you were concerned that Kunal Kapoor is possibly no longer stunningly beautiful, not to worry! He is! The 3rd Dear Zindagi trailer was released, it seems to imply that he is a singer in a band, and possibly had some kind of bad break-up with Alia? In the same trailer, she talks about hating couples.
Speaking of Kunal Kapoor, his huge movie Veeram is coming out sometime soon too. He’s got 3 releases in 2016 (the other one is still filming), and he had a 3 year gap after Luv Shuv To Chicken Khurana (which was a sweet movie, I’m sorry it’s no longer on American Netflix). I just assume that the emotional and physical effort of marrying Amitabh Bachchan’s niece exhausted him so much that he couldn’t work for a few years.
Oh, but Kunal Kapoor being hot is just part of the good news! The real good news is, Dear Zindagi is releasing 2 days early in the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see it before leaving for Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is probably why the release was bumped up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not just for me (although if Shahrukh Khan is reading my blog and knows I have been agonizing about this, can I just say SHAHRUKH I LOVE YOU!!!), but probably for all the people in America who have been struggling with scheduling around a holiday weekend. And so the filmmakers can take full advantage of that holiday weekend. And make things a little easier on the theaters, who will be scheduling all their other movies that week for a Wednesday release.
But mostly, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for me! I can go see Wednesday night, come home, get 6 hours of sleep, go to the airport, hop on a plane, hop off, have Thanksgiving dinner, and then make my family watch Manam. The perfect plan!
“I just assume that the emotional and physical effort of marrying Amitabh Bachchan’s niece exhausted him so much that he couldn’t work for a few years.” Haha!
Kunal Kapoor’s career has always fascinated me. He looks great in both teasers!

I’m watching The Crown on Netflix, and it may have influenced my vision of what it’s like to marry a Bachchan.

Am watching The Crown as well 🙂

It just makes me wish we could get a Kapoor Family miniseries of the same style. Can you imagine, starting back in the 40s when Raj and Nargis first got together right after Raj got married? All of the scandals and drama and passion of the past 70 years?
But we can’t have it, because of course the Kapoors are more powerful than the British royal family. At least in terms of preventing revealing miniseries.

It would get very convoluted!

Just saw him in Lamhaa. 🙂 🙂

Can you confirm that he really is the most beautiful man? I just sent a friend a still photo of him, and she wasn’t impressed. But I think maybe it is something you need to see in motion over the course of a whole film to really appreciate.

He’s got kind of a pointy chin thing that throws people off, I think. It’s really when he smiles that he becomes drop dead gorgeous. I just want him to only do romantic movies with Konkona forever…forget Urumi/Bahubali ripoffs and directing your own films…they could just recreate the magic of the Aaja Nachle tomboy and the thug romance for the ages!

Laaga Chunari Main Daag too! They were so cute in that. I wish both of them would leave artistically satisfying ambitious movies, and just return to mainstream rom-coms!

But, seriously, I am excited about both Veeram and A Death in the Gunj but I’m most excited about seeing more of Kunal Kapoor. I just wonder why his career didn’t take off like it should have…was he too picky, was he not getting the offers…he never struck me as a supremely, naturally talented actor but others have done more with much less (Imran Khan, Siddarth Malhotra and others). He’s not a spring chicken anymore and can probably only be a leading man for another 8-10 years:( Again, as usual, probably giving this way too much thought!

No, it is an interesting thought. I’ve always kind of felt like he just didn’t want it enough. Which is kind of his appeal, that he is this sort of spiritual thoughtful person, above petty fame and struggle. In contrast to Shahid, who feels like he wants it a little bit too much.

Don’t know about THE most beautiful but he is gorgeous especially when he smiles.
I adore SRK but would give Arjun Rampal the ‘Most Beautiful’ award.

I think I might give Arjun “Most Handsome”, Kunal “Most Beautiful”, Hrithik “Most Perfect (mostly)”. And Shahrukh is off on some other scale somewhere that is based on personality not appearance. I would give Salman the “Only Khan Who was Ever Shockingly Traditionally Attractive at Some Point in His Life” award. (oo! Idea for another TGIF post)

First, you may get tired of my constant praises, but after ALL the Dear Zindagi 3rd look teasers were blocked, ONLY YOURS was unblocked and with subtitles. I have no idea how you work your magic, but magic it is. Second, the biggest news of the day IS the early Thanksgiving release, my SRK/Hindi film fanatic buddy and I have be agonizing about fitting the film in around cooking and family. Now were are set for first day, first show. So happy for all of us. Karan certainly knows his American audience!!

Aw, thank you! The first link I went to was blocked too, but I searched youtube and picked another one. Although I guess I used my honed youtube skills to find one with a semi-legit sounding channel owner, and a recent upload date.
And I am right now im’ing with MY fellow SRK-o-phile to coordinate our Wednesday viewing plans! I can always sleep on the plane, right? So staying up until midnight the night before isn’t crazy.

Not at all crazy to stay up late to watch this movie! And now the planning for cooking, etc., and preparing for family will be around the timing of First Day, First Show on Wednesday!!!! Thank goodness!

You’re right! This is a brilliant excuse to avoid the night-before-Thanksgiving pie making job! Which I always think I will enjoy, and then I remember how incredibly tedious it is to peel and core and slice a dozen apples.

Did you see my box office post yet? ADHM is doing FREAKISHLY WELL in Australia. And my first thought was “is it possible this is just Sal going to see it over and over and over again?” But unless you are buying out a whole theater so you can see it alone, there seem to be a lot of other people in Australia who are really into this movie too.

I don’t think I am contributing to the box office takings very much (in fact hardly anything) – I saw it at the big chain cinema nearest me where they are having a price war with another smaller chain. So tickets were only $10 – but… I booked online and had rewards points for all the movies I saw in August at the IFFM so got my ticket for $1.20!

Now see, if you’d paid full price, I am sure it would have made 5 times as much money as Shivaay, instead of just 4 times as much money.
