Well, this is an interesting little burst of birthdays. Ekta is in here too, but she’s not a professional face person, so I’m not going to mix her in with the rest. But I think it is fair for Dimple, Shilpa, Amrita, and Sonam to all challenge each other.
The ladies will be competing in 6 categories, Evening Wear, Jeans, Sari, Wedding, Bikini, and Debut Look. Each category will have one winner and one runner up. And then I will add up points (winner gets 1, runner up gets .5) and declare an overall winner. Exciting!
Evening Gown Category:

Winner: Sonam!!!! Not even close
Runner Up: Shilpa. Just barely, her dress fits a little better than Amrita’s
Jeans:

Winner: Dimple! Great fit, and great attitude
Runner up: Amrita. Cheerful, youthful, delightful
Special mention: Sonam, you have lost your mind
Sari:

Winner: Amrita (I purposefully picked similar saris to make it fair)
Runner up: Shilpa. I just love the choli!
Bikini:

Winner: Dimple, obviously. Her bikini look is simple, flattering, and iconic
Runner-up: Amrita, same idea as Shilpa’s but executed slightly better. And Sonam just looks uncomfortable.
Wedding:

Winner: Sonam. Not even close, original and spectacular
Runner-Up: Dimple. We can’t see much of the outfit, but her bouffant hair puts it over the top for me.
Special Mention: Alia’s husband. It’s your marriage announcement photo! WEAR A BUTTON SHIRT!!!!
Debut Look:

Winner: Dimple. Doy. This isn’t just the most iconic debut look among these 4, it’s most iconic costume, like, in all of Hindi film history.
Runner up: Shilpa. That denim on denim look has a soft place in my heart.
Now, total points:
Amrita: 2
Dimple: 3.5
Sonam: 2
Shilpa: 1.5
Winner: Dimple!
Runner up: Sonam and Amrita tie!
Loser: Shilpa 😦
Now, the big questions:
Best outfit over all?
Which look would you borrow for yourself?
Pingback: TGIF: Birthday Girl Face Off! Dimple Versus Shilpa Versus Amrita Versus Sonam — dontcallitbollywood – Business Startup-Bay Area
You call it a “face” competition, but most of the categories are comparisons of bodies — hence, Shilpa wins all those, since she has the best (pretty much perfect) figure. Also you seem to have a definite bias for Dimple, which is fine if this is a fan contest, but not so fine if you want to call it an objective comparison. For the wedding I preferred Shilpa, too, since I just like the traditional Bundt bride fashion over the Punjabi bride fashion. As for debut look, this is one where Shilpa definitely doesn’t win, as her looks weren’t all that before her plastic surgery. I’ll give her a break for being only 15, but still she doesn’t win. I thought Sonam looked fabulous in Saawariya, but, from the photos you posted, I pick Amrita for this.
I’m probably your anti-thesis — I’ve never gotten the fuss over Dimple’s looks, either in her debut, or now.

“face off” was really just a catchy way of saying competition 🙂 You are right, I do tend to look at the whole look of a person. And thank you for commenting!!!!! I hate it when posts are comment-less.
I don’t find Dimple classically beautiful, but I find her very striking. Especially compared to the other 3 women today, Amrita and Shilpa both have a sort of perfect symmetrical perfect beauty which I never find very memorable. Sonam is memorable, but only because she works so hard at it (as she herself says constantly), with the perfect make up and fashion and so on. But Dimple feels just effortless to me, an interesting face that you like looking at, clothes that aren’t aggressively fashionable (like Sonam’s) but look perfect on her, and a very natural attitude in front of the camera.

Shilpa wins in the bikini category for me. I loved all her outfits in Shut up and Bounce.

She does look great in that song. It was so nice of her to do a special appearance, maybe they made sure to make her look spectacular as a thank you.

I honestly really like Sonam’s jean look. I wouldn’t be able to pull it off but I think it looks really cool on her!

I don’t know, anything with poofy short pants is a “no” in my book.

I liked Sonam’s evening gown and wedding dress. Her Beach position is how I often lused to keep an eye on the kids while at the beach. Half in and half out of the water. Love that hot pink bikini.

Sonam’s evening gown is so amazing. It’s like a Disney Princess dress in real life.

I don’t think Amrita’s evening gown is really an evening gown, but I really like it. I would wear it to a fancy banquet at an academic conference.
For God’s sake, Sonam, just wear a pair of jeans; it’s not hard.

And she’s got a great jeans body! Long legs and long torso.

Oh, why did I write Amrita? I meant Dimple. That is a great conference outfit.
Yeah, in principle I like Sonam’s clothes but then when I am evaluating individual outfits I always hate them.
