Bonus Wednesday Question: Which Era of Hrithik is the Best Era of Hrithik?

This is inspired by the fanvid post I put up earlier today with a gabillion Hrithik videos, which just reminded me how many different varying shades of Hrithik there are.  It’s a bit like learning to appreciate fine wine, at first it all tastes the same, but as your palate deepens, they become very different from each other.

First the prequels so you have a baseline:

Child Hrithik

Now, in the Star years:

New SuperStar, slightly more groomed and polished but still sweet Hrithik

For myself, I think I lean towards the just post-Kaho Na Pyar Hai period, the “slightly more groomed and polished” version.  How about yourself, which Hrithik do you prefer?

Also, have I missed a Hrithik?

    • That’s also the most recent Hrithik. So, fingers crossed, he remains stable at that stage in his next few films.

  1. Where is the fat? I don’t see any fat at all. Either way, Hrithik is too artificial for my taste. I think it’s the fake blondish hair that I hate the most. When will he ever look like a normal person?

  2. I like Dhoom 2 Hrithik and modern day Hrithik.

Per your other post about going to stage shows, hrithiks forte is his dancing, he should do a 3 month residency in Vegas and do an all dance show, doing the dances from his various movies, all with high quality production for support. Maybe have Shahid or Tiger as his opener. I’d travel too Vegas and pay good money to see that. Though post brain issues I’m not sure if he dances the same anymore.

    • Shoot, I hadn’t thought about brain issues. Although he was still pretty good in Tu Hai, and that was post accident. But also an easier song.

I agree about the residency!!!!!! Heck, do a residency in Goa, start a new trend for movie stars. That would be AMAZING!!!! Or Dubai, they are supposed to be opening that “Bollywood theme park” around now. And then once he is done, Dubai and Goa are close enough that other stars could take over and do their own residency. Salman’s Dabangg tour has 6 shows (I think) over the course of about a month with travel in between, why not do 20 shows in a month in one place and let the audience come to you?

  3. I like the new superstar look, the Jodha Akhbar look, and then the “fat” period best! He’s never looked as good onscreen as he looked in parts of Agneepath.

I kind of have a weakness for the highlights in Dhoom 2. He kind of pulled that look off, too.!

    • So, not the waxed, bronzed, gym body, perfect Hrithik? Anything with a little bit of a flaw to him? That makes sense.

I love him in Agneepath because he looks human. A really really handsome man, who lives and breaths and sweats and cries and all of that. Versus Dhoom 2 or Bang Bang, where he feels more like a Ken doll come to life.
