Month of SRK: 4 Songs of Shahrukh in Pain

Kind a lame SRK post today, but yesterday’s was very long and detailed, plus I had that fun little game post earlier today, so I figure it evens out.

I get to have orthodontia work today! The orthodontist has promised me “some sensitivity” and “mild discomfort”. Which I am going to go ahead and translate to “MASSIVE PAIN”. I’m getting my permanent retainer removed after 20 years, so it seems like it should be massive pain, right? I was all cocky and casual about it when I made the appointment (the doctor complemented me on my “positive attitude”), but I am getting less cocky and casual by the minute as the time of the appointment approaches.

To reassure myself, I am going to try to pick out the Shahrukh songs where Shahrukh feels even more pain (pain of THE HEART!) than could be caused by orthodontia work. These are in no particular order by the way, but you are welcome to rank them in the comments and mention others I have forgotten

  1. “Hamesha Tumko Chaahat” Really debated between this one and “Chalak Chalak”. But I feel like this is more pure pain. And hey, even if my mouth feels like there are ice picks being driven into it, at least I don’t have to watch my true love marry someone else!

2. “Kal Ho Na Ho (sad)” See above related to true love and marriage and ice picks!

3. “Chalte Chalte” Or is it sadder to have achieved marriage with your true love, only to lose her to fate and circumstances?

4. “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham” can the pain of losing a retainer that has been with me 20 years possibly compare with the pain of losing a mother who has been with me a lifetime?

What do you think, what is the most pain-ful song of them all? Or is it one I didn’t even list here?

    • ooo, that is a good one! And that “the whole world despises me” feeling is way worth than teeth pain.

  1. They are all saaaad! And sooo much heartache! The best you listen to them all while the dentist tortures you. You could even add the one from MainHoonNaa (where he has to leave the school), the sad KabhiAlvidaNaaKehna song (when they are seperated), from KKHH at Anjali’s wedding and the VeerZaara-Separation song…
At least you can be happy when the pain has vanished (and it will) because you got rid of the retainer.

    • I survived! And now I get to buy myself chocolate mousse on the way home, because I always get chocolate mousse when I am good at the orthodontist.

    • Thank you! And here is where I pedantically remind you to put comments like this on the Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday posts (I’m stealing the link for the Wednesday post right now).

  2. Kal Ho Naa Ho is the most crying-est movie ever. I wonder what the other guests, let alone Saif, made of that wedding, with the bride and the ‘best man’ sobbing their hearts out . Oh happy times!
And actually, so do I when I watch it.

    • Based on the weddings I see in movies, I’m guessing they were all thinking “well, at least the bride hasn’t eloped again”.
