Woo-hoo, a Shahrukh movie! And a good/bad one, so we will neither be distracted by being in love with him, nor bored by how terrible the film is. Oh, also Varun Dhawan, the Birthday boy.
Dilwale! Big fun bright dumb! The comedy track is murder, but we can just talk about other things during that section. Watch it on Netflix, or anywhere else you can find it.
I will start the comments below at 3pm Chicago time, you all can just keep adding on. Fun fun!
This scene was just iconic when I first saw it. So powerful, so beautiful and so badass!

I don’t love these on Kajol shoes, but they are perfect for this moment.

Kajol is soooooooooooooooo good here. In other places I feel her slipping after all her years away, but she nails this scene. So fun, so Masala, but sincere too.

How does she look so good in that lipstick?!

I forgot it was initially a “just cross the street and stop him so we can shoot him” plan. That makes much more sense than a “he will naturally fall in love with me at first sight and we will go from there” plan.

Nice bit of acting by Kajol there. The little chin wriggle as she realized she didn’t want to shoot him.

Is anyone else worried about SRK’s hairpiece falling off right now? Not that he normally wears a wig, but he clearly has something as part of the “youth” disguise and it seems very risky at the moment.

Oooo, now Mission Impossible 2! Maybe Rohit Shetty just gets so bored with romance that he lets other people write it?

I hadn’t thought about this before, but I think this might be one of my all time favorite costuming movies! I say, just in time for Kajol to show up in that hidious shirt.

And this brings up the never ending debate! Does his booty pop, or does it only look like it pops when he puts his hands in his pocket and tightens the fit?

I love Arjit but I still can’t hear him as Shah Rukh. No matter what his singing voice will always be Sonu Nigam to me.

I have an even worse problem, I hear Arijit and think it is Ranbir’s voice, and then it’s Ranbir’s voice out of Shahrukh’s face, and everything is wrong.

We can agree to disagree! I like that he had the mirror – that was a nice moment. But I love the love actually scene because of the huge longing and loss behind it…so to me that’s so powerful. I guess I don’t care so much about whether Ishu and Veer get together
