  1. I like this UTV logo so much! And then the changed to the stupid weird abstract dancers thing. This is one of my strongest held opinions, that the finger paint was better than the dancers, and I almost never get to air it.

  2. I already love this movie. Yes! He married a woman from that family and she was the mother of his heir, but all the rest of it is made-up! Live with and learn to love the uncertainty!

  3. My shorthand to remember the Mughals-every other generation is good. Impressive man has lackluster son who has an impressive son who has a lackluster son…..

  4. You got that? Jodha’s best friend is her male cousin, the prince? But when his Dad dies, Jodha’s father steals the kingdom from her nephew, cousing the poor little boy to be confused and unhappy? Like Hamlet, but in a desert

  5. If I were in a 1600s Indian army, I would want to be one of the elephant people, or else an archer. Definitely not one of the runny swords people. I think about it every time I watch this scene.

  6. Some of the special effects make up is just brutal in this first battle scene, I alllmost noped out of it when I started this movie the first time because I didn’t want to watch a blood-bath movie that day.

  7. I just opened up Wikipedia. He was 14, and this whole thing is super accurate. There was a whole battle over his inheritance, his Dad’s general fought this big battle on his behalf, and after words had him declared emporer.

  8. Question: would you rather be the messenger who has to bring this declaration to enemy territory, or a runny sword guy in the army? I think I might rather be a runny sword guy.

  9. This is one of the all time greatest hero introduction scenes. Putting on his physical armor, and also putting on his mental armor around that little 14 year old inside.

  10. And this ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!!! He fired the general by saying “why don’t you go to Mecca? With a bunch of bodyguards I will provide for you just to make sure you actually go there?”

  11. Something I’ve grown to appreciate about this movie is how many historically accurate hats they make all the men wear–and not just the same hat made again and again and again, but different hats, in different colors, with different decorations. Like, you will wear the stupid hat and you will like it! Double bonus: Hrithik ALSO has to wear the stupid hats. (although he is someone who will wear ANY costume–evidence: Krrish. And Krrish. And Krrish)

  12. Am I the only one who remembers Aish was in a Hollywood movie just before this loosely based on King Arthur and co-starring Colin Firth? Anyway, pretty sure that’s where she learned a lot of the stunt fighting.

  13. So you get this? The Jodha’s Dad stole her cousin’s inheritance, and now isn’t even naming him as his heir. And we never get an explanation of it either, her Dad’s just being a jerk and holding on to power.

    • I never understood any of that either, because it seemed so obvious that Sujamal was under the impression that he ought to have inherited, and Jodha’s brother is like “I legit should be the heir, no doubt,” during this scene, like—?
