Remember the golden days when Shahrukh’s twitter was just his stream of consciousness thoughts flowing out? I feel like people who missed that era, missed a whole part of him. When his fans say “he’s so smart, he’s so quick, he’s so original”, that’s what we are talking about. Unfiltered, unprocessed, pure SRK. You just can’t see it in the interviews or any other way. Anyway, now it is very filtered and very processed, but at least he is tweeting again.
Diwali
Death of an international sports star
Meer Foundation publicizing a local library initiative
Red Chillies finishing Bob Biswas
Dilip Kumar’s birthday
Acknowledgement of a thank you for pandemic donations
Happy Birthday to Rajinikanth
And congratulations to Gauri for winning an award
Hmm. Looking at all of these tweets, they tend to fall into the category of publicizing good works in hopes of encouraging others, sincere but also obligatory (and therefore must be public) birthday greetings to fellow workers, promotion of Red Chillies to acknowledge good work, and three personal tweets: About the death of Diego Maranado, about Gauri’s award, and to wish us Happy Diwali.
Okay, I can live with that.
SRK has to be VERY CAREFUL. Anything in writing from a public figure is open to criticism, a lot of it mean and stupid. I think he walked the line between interestingly creative and empty hack. Good job!

Yeah, if we accept these are going to be business basic tweets, he managed to put a certain amount of personality into them.

1. What is going on with his hair in the first pic? 2. Why does Gauri hate her award?

HA! Both of these, so true. I think in the first pic, his hair either needs a washed, or was just washed with bad shampoo. It’s weird and stringy and I don’t like it.
I think Gauri just hates having her photo taken.

Wish I’d seen the fun Twitter phase. I get it but his feed is pretty boring most of the time unless you’re a fan of his team. Seems like cricket is the only thing he’ll let himself speak freely about. The Maradona tweet made me happy, and giving away books always makes me happy. I like seeing new photos but I don’t love his selfie face and I miss candids.

Whenever he does an ASKSRK (which isn’t that common, unfortunately) you get a glimpse of what the “fun” twitter phase was like. He used to do a ton of AskSRKs and also just random quotes and stuff. One year at midnight on Independence Day, he posted “Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand, I don’t care, I’m still free, you cannot take the sky from me”. Which is a nice quote, and also from the theme song for Josh Whedon’s show Firefly! So super obscure and nerdist, and appropriate to the occasion, and just a nice quote. That’s the only example I can remember, but all his twitter used to be like that, random thoughts and question and answer and quotes from books he liked and stuff.
