Woot, Sunday movie! I had such a day of accomplishments yesterday, got groceries and hung a picture and all kinds of things, and now it is lovely to just have a nice sloooooooooooooow morning.
Double XXL
It’s on Netflix, it looks fun, it has Sonakshi and we love her.

At 7:30am Chicago time, I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and then we will all comment along from there.

This is probably inappropriate to think, but the T-Series logo is so extremely religious and the founder Gulshan Kumar was shot in a drive by as he was leaving a Temple. Wouldn’t that make you question religion?

Yep! Especially when she was having such a mature conversation about real stuff.

Once when I was a little kid, I slept in my dad’s sleeping bag and got turned around overnight so that, when I tried to crawl out, I was facing the foot end. I get a little flash of that same feeling now whenever I’m “lost” inside a piece of clothing!

This was my issue shopping in India. I couldn’t even get things big enough to go over my head. I just bought everything that fit me and left it at that.

I do think that it helps that tailored clothes are common/comparatively inexpensive. When my uncle needed new clothes in Delhi, he would just get them stitched.

Shopping while large is a pain in the butt! My mom was obese when I was little, and she wore the same polyester pants everyday with different sweaters. She lost 100 lbs when I was in college, and now she has three closets full of clothes.

Why is this man dressed like Feroz Khan?

I really like how they had Sonakshi and Huma look. First, two actresses whose faces look good oversized, and second whatever they did with the bodies (had them gain weight, CGI, fat suit) is very lowkey and subtle, they are well proportioned and can still live their lives, just aren’t size 0.

She must like parties; she was having fun until she overheard that nasty conversation.

Yes! This was my problem – he doesn’t look like a young model . He looks old, and she looks younger and prettier.

But Meera’s point stands, they have nothing in common. She’s settling because she thinks it is the right thing for her.

I want to think it is worry about her getting married, but nah. My grandmother nagged my mother about her weight her entire life. My mom cares more about how I look than anyone else. Why do mothers focus in on daughter’s appearances?

In my family it was the opposite, my aunts nagged my Grandma about her weight until she died.

Unless Roli Mausi is really annoying, I would much rather stay with friends than at a hotel : P

I would always go for hotel. Hotels are magic, they are like a bedroom you don’t have to clean.

I have a conference coming up in Minneapolis in March and have arranged myself a daily hour-long bus commute to stay with friends rather than bother with the conference hotel! Not only are hotels expensive, they make me feel sad.

Huma is dressed like rani and Preity dressed in Lakshya and No One Killed Jessica as news reporters. So she is dressed right for a serious news role, but apparently Cricket people have to be boring tiny clothes women.

You can get a passport in a week in India? It takes months in the U.S.!

You can get an expedited application rushed through in ten business days in the U.S., but naturally it costs several times the normal fees.

I was under the impression even the rush of two weeks is in reality three now. But maybe it has recovered from the pandemic era delay.
