This is either the first or second SRKajol movie, I can never remember which. Definitely Shilpa Shetty’s first film. And it’s crazy and 90s and cute and over the top and all good things. Also, available for rent on Prime.
At 8am Chicago time, I will put up an “And PLAY!” comment and we will go along from there!

Okay, she had another baby by surrogate in 2020 and is rumored to be in a streaming series in which she plays a police woman opposite Sidharth Malhotra! I would watch that. And her Richard Gere obscenity charge was FINALLY dismissed last January.

I like this, because he actually is a villain in this movie. Like, this should be the moment the audience starts to think “something is weird with this guy”. That’s the only way to make the plot work as I think it is supposed to work. This dude may be bad, but Other Shahrukh is still okay.

I recall reading an article a long time back that theorized that Seema’s death was narratively to balance out the death in Ajay’s family. His dad lost a daughter because of Madan Chopra, now Madan Chopra loses a daughter because of Ajay.
