Happy Saturday! I have nothing to do for the first weekend in ages. Thank goodness, because I was getting seriously sleep-deprived, and Dog Hazel was getting a bit lonely.
Last night I had a friend over to give Dog Hazel tummy scratches and watch a movie. As a hostess present, she brought me a half pound of jalebis because they are my FAVORITE.
(And now this song is going through my head)
We ended up watching Raid, which is still as good as I thought it was the first time I saw it. You should all watch it too!
And I would have eaten all of the Jalebis in one go, except Dog Hazel kept poking me with her little nose going “what are you eating what are you eating what are you eating can I have some?” until I finally gave up. She keeps me so healthy!
(Very hard to eat with this in your face)
And then I drove my friend home, and went to bed, and now it is the next day and Dog Hazel and I are having a slooooooooooooow start. She is still curled up in her bed on the floor, and I am still curled up in my bed a couple of feet higher. When we both feel up to it, we may have a real breakfast, me something more than jalebis and her something more than chewing on the bone I gave her last night.
From our cozy state, I have taken a little dip into the Indian film news. Here are the stories that jumped out at me as most heartening for a Saturday morning:
- Anil Kapoor gives his staff, spotboy and make-up artist and bodyguard, the gift of a 4 day get away to Singapore and Indonesia as a thank you for them sticking by his 24 hour schedule while he rushes to finish films. AWWWWW!
- Hrithik Roshan turns down Pulimurugan remake. Bhansali owns the rights (why?????) and wants to remake it in Hindi (WHY??????? It was so BAD!). But maybe since his first choice Hrithik turned him down, the film won’t happen! That really would be heartwarming.
- Akshay Kumar rushes to meet Sonali Bendre. I am sure we are all super bummed about Sonali being sick, but isn’t it nice that Akshay went to New York to meet her? And wouldn’t Akshay make you feel better if you were sick?
Which story do you like best? Or is there another one you would rather talk about? This is the place, either way!
