It’s official, Fawad’s not coming back for the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions. Probably a good idea.
It’s too bad he won’t be part of the promos, I always enjoy his interviews. However, I can see that it would be bad for the film and for his career. Better to keep his head down until this controversy blows over, and better for the movie to try to downplay his involvement. On the other hand, according to Bollywoodhungama Karan is firm that Fawad will still be the first guest on the next season of Koffee With Karan, even if they have to film the episode overseas.
In happier news, Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are going to appear together on Sajid Khan and Ritiesh Deshmukh’s talk show. I don’t know if Karan was the one to come up with the idea for join interviews on talk shows or if it was already part of the media landscape, but either way, it’s a brilliant idea! People will tune in just to see their favorite stars interacting with each other, no matter who is interviewing them. Plus, it let’s you promote two movies at once, Arjun’s Half-Girlfriend and Varun’s Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Oh, and Arjun and Varun are being promoted as childhood friends, which I think I believe. Didn’t Boney produce some of David Dhawan’s films? So they would have known each other from hanging around on set.
Plus, there’s that short film from Barry John’s acting studio that surfaced a while back, in which Arjun and Varun acted together because they were in the same class. Seeing as Barry John is in Delhi and it’s a few month course, not like years and years, I kind of find it easier to believe that they knew each other already and joined the class together on purpose than that to Bombay boys randomly ended up overlapping in the same short course in Delhi.
And finally, Zeenat Aman! Is ANGRY!!! Her son was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a motorbike which zoomed off without looking back. He hit his head and had to have 40 stitches. And Zeenat filed an FIR against the biker and put pressure on the police until they arrested him. It’s not exactly learning karate to avenge your brother’s death ala Roma in Don, but it’s still got that kind of Zeenat take-no-prisoners attitude.
