Discussion Post: What Do We Most Want Shahrukh to Give Us For His Birthday?

Not what we “think he might announce”, but sky’s the limit, anything is possible, kind of wish list post. What big BIG thing would make you very happy for Shahrukh to say?

Picture it! Shahrukh comes out and waves to the crowds, than signals the media to come forward. He waits until all the cameras are on and then he says:

“I am pleased and honored to announce that my good friend Karan Johar just married his long time partner ——-. The happy couple and their children are on a honeymoon together in an undisclosed location, until they return I am happy to answer any of your questions.”

“My next project will be an Indian remake of the British hit series Downtown Abbey. For those of you familiar with the series, I will be playing the role of Thomas the Footmen.”

“I’m publishing my autobiography, available in stores tomorrow.”

“My wife and I will be hosting a TV special giving a full tour of our entire house, with a coffee table book version to be made available later featuring photos of every room.”

“I am no longer going to be dying my hair [pull off hat to reveal grey head]”

“Kajol and I secretly filmed an indie style DDLJ sequel in London last year, it hits Netflix tomorrow”

“Juhi and I secretly filmed an indie style Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman sequel in Dubai last year, it hits Netflix tomorrow”

“I just bought Dharma Productions”

“I just bought YRF Studio”

“Don 3”

What else do you want from him, if we could have anything at all? Or what is your most wanted ones of my ideas? (I’m I the only person who also kind of wants Ra.Two?)

  1. I Lille your SRK book, Ra.Two, and Don 3 wishes the best.

    As for me, I would also love it if he said he would release his book this Christmas and that it has five-thousand pages.

    The next thing that would make me happy is if he would say that he still loves to be loved and that he very much still looks forward to riding the volatile waves of the ocean of love and in order to do that he will do many more films for at least quarter a century.

    The last thing I would wish is very schmaltzy but I would wish for him to be as happy as he can possibly be and feel as loved as he has made me feel.

  2. My most desired announcement would be along the lines of the Kajol one you suggest except I don’t wanted to be done and ready to be released, Not do
    I want it to be a DDLJ sequel. I want it to be something that they just started working on so that we have some delicious anticipation thinking about what it’s going to be, and I want it to be a collaboration between Aditya Chopra and Imtiaz Ali. Deep, mature romance. Sandwich gen issues of aged parents and kids becoming independent.

    Secondarily I would love for current to get married. But is the underline supposed to be a question? I just assumed that he was with Manish.

    Also have you seen the Knorr soup add that Karan posted on Instagram today? I’m dead.

    As a sidenote, what I wish for Shah Rukh for his birthday is that he be allowed to really be himself and create the films that he would like to create, and be respected for it instead of being asked to be the person that he was 25 years ago.

    • What about announcing a trilogy along the lines of Before Sunset, but happening over one 2 year period, and the first one is releasing on Netflix tomorrow? And the other two will have slightly different casts and settings and “new conflicts that will surprise us”. So we get the brand new movie with no waiting that I want, and two more movies coming out for us to talk about for the next two years.

      I always assumed he was with Manish, but his shockingly honest memoir says that Manish is one of his closest friends but is all about casual sex, while Karan is all about sweet monogamy for a lifetime.   3. Everyone keeps saying he will announce his new movie tomorrow. They even have a title called Sanki already!! (which means ‘crazy’) So just to irritate everyone, I hope he announces NO movie. I want one too but I hate all these wannabe journalists, trade analysts, and entitled fans who act like they know more than SRK himself. They are demanding it like he owes them something. They already have a plan to harass him with twitter trends for a movie announcement on Nov. 3 if he announces nothing on the 2nd!

    So I hope he chills with his family and friends and has fun. He should announce a movie when all the prerequisites are in place and not because things have to be done on a special date. I hate this birthday announcement thing everyone seems to follow. It is so weird and dumb.

    Maybe he can announce his book. I would be really excited about that.

      • Aww, I love the beard but I like that he shaves it sometimes. He was adorable clean-shaven during the Letterman interview.
        And this way I can rejoice when I see it growing back. What’s the fun if it’s there all the time?
        OT but if people really should watch the movie he recommended – Parasite. It is so freaking good. I think it’s a shoe-in to win the foreign language Oscar.

    I’m not bothered with anny announcement (there is already the TedTalk that starts on his birthday)…and I can still wait for his biography…I’ve an unfazed patience.

    I would dream for all the fans that came there from very far that he may do something for them (besides waving), something that pleases them, a kind of stage show for 1h (with meeting them and taking pictures and getting a looooot of presents (all nicely wrapped – he adores unwrapping gifts) and then have the rest of the day with his family (and invited friends, if he wants). No press, no interview and if he gets asked because of the new movies giving an approximate time when he will announce (if he doesn’t want to announce something already).

  5. I like the idea of the 5000 page autobiography. He once read out a piece on going on that journey with his father to reconnect with their roots, and it was beautiful.

    But my first thought was also the wimpy one from Satrekid – more than anything I want to know that he is happy, healthy and content. Can he convey that tomorrow in a way that I believe it for all time? Other than moving into my house so I can see it every day, I doubt it.

  6. How about him announcing that his team is working on some technology that will enable every fan to have a small piece of him (think hologram style) forever?

    I guess that would make him sound pretty self-obsessed (if not downright arrogant about himself), but well it would probably let me have a small piece of him with me forever… like actually have it a part of life you know. Also, its sci-fi and technology, so really, its right up there with his likes!!! :))

    Honestly, like everyone else here, I wish him nothing but more love and light for him and his family… there has been so much negativity surrounding him lately that all I would really want is more and more love for him!

    • I had a similar thought! Except I want Shahrukh branded clothing, or furniture, or something like that. Imagine a mirror with “Tujhe Dekha Tu Jaane Sanam” written on it under a drawing of his eyebrows.

      But otherwise, yes! Totally agree, brilliant idea. And Aditya Roy Kapoor can play the Tom Hanks alcoholic role in one very special episode.

          It has been 30 years since the last episode of FamilyTies…so it could even be a good concept to tell about living in India to even those who don’t know anything (or not much) about.

          • Totally classic but I just hate every single ‘very special episode’ of any show. I watch sitcoms for the pure laughter. And I have watched a LOT of them…I could be the Margaret of Classic TV comedy! I’d call my website “Don’t Call it Sitcom.”

          • Oh, we need to talk! I love sitcoms, it is the only way I can go to sleep at night, 20 minutes of simple laughter and predictability and I zonk right out. Only, I think I have watched every sitcom episode in existence and now I am out. I’m going through Golden Girls now for about the 15th time, but what will I do when it is over?

            (also, have you read my Golden Girls fanfic? I made Shabana Azmi Blanche and Shahrukh her hot younger lover)

Actually bested by new ODAAT on Netflix but about to move to PopTV for season 4. My all time classic fave is the Dick Van Dyke Show. I bought all 5 seasons of DVDs in 2001 before this stuff was streaming. I could go on all day. 😊

          • Dick Van Dyke grew up in the same town as my grandmother, which always made me feel a nice connection. And also, when I was little we used to be allowed to stay up late if we were good to watch the Dick Van Dyke reruns at 9pm.

    • Yes! That would be amazing.

      I’ll do you one better. Red Chillies has designed a program so that a computer will spontaneously create SRK narration on demand. You don’t even have to wait for him to record it, there’s a little app you can add to your phone so that when you press it, any text you want can be read out by SRK. Whether it is your grocery list or your romance novel.

    • His performance in Fan just keeps getting better as it goes. There’s a few scenes where he simply looks at his face in a mirror and it is fascinating.
