I am excited! I haven’t watched a good old classic early 2000s movie in ages, and even longer since I watched one I hadn’t seen before. I am ready to be entertained and surprised!
Ajnabee! It’s available for rent on Prime, and on einthusan. At 3pm Chicago time I will put up an “and PLAY” comment and we can all watch along from there. Enjoy the neon! The cargo pants! Bobby curls!

Nice to know where they fill all fantasy sequences already up front and not have to guess it. All in bold letters as well! 😀

At least on Einthusan, every instance of “Rum” in the subs is capitalized, as though it is a person we are proposing to serve Bobby instead of a drink : /

I am having flashbacks to Howards End with the umbrella mix up. I am sensing the script writer saw the film…

Dilip Tahil is overacting just a smidge and I LOVE IT! Laugh more Dilip!

I don’t know how to define it exactly, but his English dialogue is also a little stagey in a way you don’t hear any more in Hindi movies. Kind of the same accent Saif used to have in the ’90s, e.g., but has kind of rounded off these days.

Do you think Dilip’s script had [laugh] after each line? Or did he just do that on his own off script?

The punched-forward zooms did not convince that Bobby’s orange jacket is actually cool : / This is a nice-sounding song, though.

Oh, it’s Kumar Sanu–that explains things. I recalled having seen Udit on the soundtrack credits, but this deffo didn’t sound like him.

Well, the Deol rule continues. Awesome at Bhangra, terrible at every other dance form. Let Bobby just do Bhangra!

Now, in a later Kareena thriller, we would alter discover all the desi neighbors are part of a spy sleeper cell. Which would be almost less irritating than this.
