Happy Saturday! I am pre-scheduling this because I am going to sleep in! And then go see Soorma. And then take a nap. The perfect day.
So, things to talk about! The Fault in Our Stars remake with Sushant Singh Rajput, bad idea or worst idea?
Sara Ali Khan co-starring with Saif, good idea or bad idea? Or maybe good for him but bad for her? Or vice versa?
And finally, most importantly, is it time for me to take Dog Hazel off of her diet? Sometimes she still looks pretty chubby.
But then other times she looks really tiny.
She doesn’t seem to know herself, except that she would really like to have real treats instead of her carrot sticks she’s been living on.
What do you think, should I give in and let her have good food?
How old is she?

Just turned 2. So she’s fully grown. She was dangerously over weight when the rescue got her, 50 pounds, but I’ve got her down to 35 now.

Then she needs friends she can run around with. We let ours plays with neighbor’s dogs and then we had our relatives’ dogs she played with a lot.

I think she was abused by other dogs in her past life, she’s got a bunch of scars on her, and she gets really spooked when she sees another dog. But I am considering trying to socialize her again, so she can have little doggie friends and I don’t have to worry as much about her being spooked all the time.

Oh dear!! Does she play fetch?

She will run for treats, I can throw carrot sticks around the apartment and she will chase after them, which is fun for both of us.

My dog always got fat from milk cream. Then we put her on meats and eggs to lean her out

Your dog was lucky! Dog Hazel doesn’t get people food (except for carrots), just strange little brown chunks of processed dog food.

My dog gets that too… she loves pulao and biryani but not regular rice unless it has cream, also white bread and roti and of course all meats and meat curries. But you can’t make her eat fruits. Or vegetables.

Dog Hazel will eat literally anything. Thus, the weight gain. She could do with a slightly more descriminating palate.

maybe she’s anxious.

At least she’s not eating non-edible stuff, I had a friend who’s dog does that, and he gets sick constantly. Very high strung dog, if there are any changes in his routine, he gets anxious and eats the wrong stuff and then gets sick.

You’re lucky! Dog Tilly ate socks, shoes, underwear, bags, belts, homework, pillows! But she usually eats grass when she has a cough and wants to make herself throw up.

Saif, in your picture with Ali Khan, looks surprisingly like Hazel in your last photo.

Maybe he also is sick of carrot sticks.

Fault in Our Stars remake is a terrible idea per se. But if you’re making it, make it with an Ishaan Khatter type younger guy. Not someone in his 30’s. I thought the director of this film was great at casting.

Also, is Koode coming to theatres near you?

Not this week. I have hope for next week, but the scheduling will be trickier then, so I’ll have to see what I can manage.

YES!!!! That was my first thought when the casting was first rumored. It’s supposed to be heartbreaking because they are teenagers, otherwise there’s nothing special to the story.

I thought it was a well written book no? I liked it. I recently saw a Fred Rogers documentary which left me wondering if we have a Mister Rogers for our time. The person that came closest in my mind was John Green.

either way, I think Geetanjali was one of the best films ever about people with terminal illnesses. Maybe that could be a list idea…although a morbid one, of how many of these films there are and are they good.

I can’t believe I forgot about Geetanjali. It was such a refreshing take on things, especially ending on a kiss instead of a funeral.

Also what a pleasant coincidence your dog’s name is that of the protagonist’s name in Fault.. 🙂

Ha, didn’t even think about that! It’s also the same name as my great-grandmother.

Agree that Sushant is a bit old for the role in the remake.
As for Hazel’s weight, what does the Vet say about her weight? Had to put my daughter’s Golden on diet. She did really well. Vet said to keep her maintenance the same. So you may want to check with your vet about her maintenance diet.
As for socializing with other dogs, what about a beginning obedience training class, dogs are kept under control and a trainer is there to help with particular issues?

I took her to the vet when I first got her and she was about 10 pounds heavier, but not since then. The vet gave me diet instructions then and I’ve been following them, but now she is all skinny looking. Her rabies booster and heartworm test is due soon, so maybe I will just ask then.
I was thinking about obedience classes! In the fall when my schedule is a little less hectic. Maybe meet with a trainer first just to make sure she would be okay with the over dogs before I commit to 6 weeks. It would be good in general for stuff like not eating food on walks and not pulling on the leash as much and so on.

Fault in our stars is a terrible terrible idea, also somewhat done earlier with Geetanjali by Mani Ratnam, and Sushant Singh is too old to play this. The girl looks like the right age though.
Btw have you seen this? Is Aish trying to do a troll sort of thing or is this how she thinks popstars are?

Ugh! Another terrible song. And I am so distracted by the Bulls jersey. Why?
It looks a lot like Priyanka’s terrible “In My City” video, to the point that I wonder if it was a send-up on purpose? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IQCjqTZQLo
Also, Rajkummar is way too good for her in every way.

Its worse than In My City because at least Priyanka is able to carry some of it, she looks comfortable even if the video itself is ridiculous. Aishwarya looks completely out of place and the styling is so ridiculous!

I have to admit, I do like her two tone hair. But everything else is no good.
