DCIB Awards: Best FanFic of 2018!

I love writing fanfic soooooooooooo much, it’s like my little candy dessert after the healthy meal of reviews and news posts and bleh. Anyway, I know there is only a small group of you that also reads my fanfics, but if you are one of them, you get to vote here! Make your voice heard!

This is a very very long list of links. I recommend dipping in and out and reminding yourself of them. If you care about FanFics at all, if you don’t, just ignore this. Personally, I think my favorite might be the epic SRK and Rani rediscover their spark film. Or maybe the period version of YRF films. Or the non-Aamir Thugs.

My goodness! You have written a lot of these. At least one of them should be picked up by a producer and made into a film. (of course, they won’t give you credit)

Anyway, since no one else seems to be commenting, I will cast my vote:

The Random Harvest one from September 30, 2018.

  2. I haven’t read all of them..but of the ones I’ve read I have two favorites.
First, the SRK-Rani rekindling of romance was just lovely…this needs to be a movie!!
Second, the Alia-Kat-Ranbir story was just delightful…I think my vote goes to this one for the glorious cheesiness!

    • Yes, the rekindling romance should be a movie, and the Kat-Alia-Ranbir one should be real life!

  3. I’m refreshing the ones I like the most: SRK-Tabu ; Anne of Green Gables Kerala style ; stories for Maddy ; Your Love Story , Female Devdas…And there are so many I haven’t read. You really have a talent, I don’t know which one should win.

    • Was SRK-Tabu the one where she is a spinster who makes up a story about a romance in Kashmir and then is embarrassed when Shahrukh appears, her fake romance beau? I paired them up so many times!

If I were really serious, instead of writing a million half-baked ideas I would focus and actually develop one of them into a full story. But it’s so much more fun this way!!!!

  4. I like the last fanfiction very much…it is a well rounded mature love story and feel good movie with only two locations and although the inspiration was an old Hollywood movie, it goes its own ways and has some twists.

Margret, do you also have action fanfiction like we did with ShahRukh as James Bond? If yes, on which date? Would like to read some. and I’ve to serch for the 2nd part of the Rani-SRK rekindling plot (somewhere in December?)

  5. 1. SRK and Irrfan. I want to see that story so badly!
Tied for second (sorry, I can’t choose): Snowed in with Shah Rukh, All about Eve, Shah Rukh and Rani (remake of Hope Springs), Shah Rukh and Juhi (cop/private eye), Shah Rukh and Tabu (LM Montgomery), Kat/Alia/Ranbir

    • Now I have to reread all of these! That’s the secret advantage I get from this post, as you all vote for things it reminds me of the best ones and then I go reread them.

  6. Can we choose only one? Because I would join in to Procrastinatrix as I now remember that I liked very much “All about Eve” and the “Cop/private Eye” one, too…and I definitely like the journey “ShahRukh/Rani rekindling” (indeed Imtiaz Ali or Zoya Akthar material), because there, younger people teach something to the elders.

Do you send your fanfiction to someone in the filmindustry??? It would – maybe – worth a try…

    • You can choose as many as you want! So few people are going to be voting on this one, and it would be boring if only a few were mentioned.

  7. In no particular order, I liked SRK/Irrfan romance, SRK/Rani rekindling, and the “strong women for Women’s Day” post. Just flipping through these quickly I noticed that favorite people to write movies for, besides Shah Rukh of course, seem to be Juhi and Rajkummar (although I haven’t actually run statistics).

    • Juhi and Rajkummar seems possible! Because Rajkummar can play anything, he is the swiss army knife of imaginary fanfic casting. And because Juhi doesn’t work enough! I have so many ideas that keep building up as she continues to not work. and now I have to reread the strong women post!

        • Meanwhile, I have increasingly stopped imagining Alia into movies because she is in too many. Kriti is in a ton of my mental stuff too, but once her new movies FINALLY come out, maybe that will stop.
