Director’s Week: Gautham Menon, Strength Through Sacrifice

You can feel free to disagree with my arguments in this post. I’ve seen only maybe a third of Gautham’s movies so there could be something I am missing. But this is how it appears to me right now, with my imperfect knowledge. Also, WHY ARE GAUTHAM MENON’S MOVIES IMPOSSIBLE TO STREAM???? They just disappear off the face of the earth as soon as they leave theaters so far as I can tell.

Sunday ReRun: Yennai Arindhaal/Yentavaadu Gaani

I think I may have finally figured out what I like about Gautham Menon films.  It took a while, because they seem like the kind of film I shouldn’t like, perfect heroes and opaque heroines.  But with this film, I think I have cracked it.  Oh, and also, Ajith looks goooo-ooooood with grey hair!  Which is neither here nor there, but I felt it should be acknowledged.

Upcoming Movie Reviews: Malayalam Communists On Wednesday for May Day, Badlapur on Friday 5/3, Yennai Arindhaal 5/5 for Ajith and Trisha!

Okay, big week! Lots of non-Hindi!!!! On May 1, for the International Day of Labor, lots and lots of Malayalam communists. Then Badlapur on Friday, and finally Yennai Arindhaal on Sunday. Even if no one else likes it, I really really like Yennai Arindhaal and I am replaying the review for Ajith and Trisha’s birthdays this week.

Tuesday (On Wednesday to Make Up for Skipping last Week) Tamil: Yennai Arindhaal, Non-Toxic Masculinity
