Wednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking and Listening to The Week I MOVE???

Happy Wednesday! I have one more day being lazy with my parents, then tomorrow I pack up the car and drive back into the city and hit the ground running. By this time next week, I should have a painter scheduled, all the locks changed, the junk removed, the building deep cleaned, and myself and the dog moved into our unit with our little campsite’s worth of stuff.

Sunday WatchAlong This Week: What Time and What Movie?

Ugh, this week has so much happening!!! Thursday I drive back into the city, and start moving my stuff out of my friends’ unit and down into the basement, and pick up a million things that are waiting for me at Home Depot and other places. Saturday morning I move my final items out, then go over to my parents. Sunday I return to my ACTUAL REAL LIFE FINAL HOME. And do a watchalong.

Saturday Small Talk: Chat Away While My Parents and I Relax Now that Grandpa is Better

Happy Saturday! Grandpa is all better, the old man just likes to make sure we are paying attention sometimes. Sigh. Anyway, my parents are exhausted after three days at the hospital, and I am exhausted after three days of feeding myself and being bored, so we are going to take it easy and enjoy life today.

I’m Stressed, Photo Post! Surprisingly Sexy Photos of Art Actors, in Honor of Naseerji

Ugh! Grandpa’s in the hospital, the roofer has to do a lot more work than anticipated, I didn’t get enough sleep because the dog kept crawling on me all night because I forgot to fill his water dish, and WORST OF ALL because of Grandpa, we may have to cancel on the small children on Saturday and I CAN’T HANDLE DISAPPOINTING SMALL CHILDREN!!! Their little eyes get big and they try not to cry and they are embarrassed because they are so sad. It’s HORRIBLE. Babies just cry and cry, and adults are tough, but that in between age when they want to cry but know they aren’t supposed to cry, that just rips out your heart. I CAN’T TAKE IT! Anyway, sexy photos to distract me.

Toofan Review (SPOILERS): Let Us All Sympathize With the Poor Bigot! The Fragile Bigot! Who Cannot Handle New Ideas or He Will EXPLODE!!!!

It’s true, the movies have shown me. The old white man in America who has to painfully and carefully learn that, maybe, not all racism is good. Poor Lord Crawley in Downton Abbey who has to consider that maybe class distinctions are sometimes unfair. And of course all the Hindu patriarchs in Indian films who have to suffer being told that, sometimes, maybe, non-Hindus and women have a right to live.

Toofan Review (No Spoilers): Really Makes Me Appreciate Sultan

Well, I watched it! And it was super frustrating! Very good bit-bad bit, good bit-bad bit, and on and on. I’m recommending it if you really like Farhan Akhtar (he is super charming), and if you are desperate for a romance (there’s a sweet one). But I am not recommending it as a movie as a whole because it is way WAY too confused.

Wednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking and Listening to During My Hard Week?

Happy Wednesday! Today I tuck away all my stuff so my friends’ can finish painting their apartment, and then drive to the lake house. I’m debating whether I want to come back into the city this weekend to finish off some stuff (mow the lawn, etc.) or if I want to just be out of town and not think about things for two weeks.

DCIB Book Club: Ms Marvel Vol. 3 “Crushed”, Chapter 3

Oh, this is SUCH a good chapter! It has a reasonable explanation for why immigrant parents want their children to marry within their culture, it has a subtle chauvinism contrasted with apparent chauvinism, and it has a teenage girl being so stupid you want to reach through the pages and shake her, but also you understand.
